Everyday hacks part three

It’s a new month so here are some new tips and things 🙂
Last month I did my first few everyday hacks which I dubbed #ellabellatips I wanted a place to share quick tips I came across or knew of so I took to instagram to post it. I then realised that I should do a monthly round up,for those who don’t follow me on instagram (you should though, just saying) so here we are with my third installment

A quick keep busy tip…mix a bunch of small toys and buttons into play dough and give it to your toddler to uncover 😉

Weird tip to get sand out of curly hair…baby powder and light vacuming…CRAZY but true

Although dehydrated kale flakes would be way better for him. Otees cereal packs make for the ultimate picky eater travel food. Shove it in his bag no mess no fuss

Have a bag of toys ready for the long road
, play dough, colouring and small cars are always a win

you can make a quick little gift by cutting out two felt hearts and tacking together
leave a space on the top to make a book mark or the bottom to make a pencil holder

Incorporate your kid in your daily exercise to cut down on mommy guilt

colouring in letters of the alphabet are a great way to teach letters 🙂

Please tag me @justellabella or #ellabellatips with any tips you would like to share 🙂

Want to get healthy veggie based muffins into your toddler?
If you are not completely against sugar, why not lightly (super light – soggy muffins are not on) brush the top with water and dip in sprinkles or even coloured coconut which I showed you guys how to make here

Need a quick on the go snack?

Mix a small tub of yogurt with half a tub of milk (same tub) instant drinking yogurt 🙂 yum yum – Full cream yogurt works the best.

Need a “keep busy craft” in a hurry?

Cut up some drinking straws to make easy beads then pair with some pipe cleaners

Want some blue (or any other colour juice)?
Just put the smallest drop of food colouring into apple juice to get your desired colour
Like this blue “Frozen Juice”
Looking for a healthy snack to beat the heat?

Pop your yogurt in the freezer when you get to work or just first thing in the morning at home and by lunch time you have inexpensive frozen yogurt!!!

I am always looking for hacks to share so please tag me @justellabella or #ellabellatips on any tips you would like me to share on my monthly round up 🙂

If little hands struggle with taking stickers off…
Removing the backing sheet off stickers helps A LOT

Replacing your ice-cubes with Frozen grapes keeps your drink cool
without diluting it

No need for scrubbing to get labels off bottles
Just soak them in warm (hot even) soapy water and they glide off
– I learnt this WAYYY too late in life

Punching holes in material makes for a great “sewing” activity

A easy make ahead breakfast:
Freeze peppers, bacon, mushrooms and spinach in containers ahead of time
When ready for breakfast, defrost in microwave, season, break an egg over and microwave again for a minute (depending on how you like your eggs

To make coloured coconut just pop some in a zip lock baggy with a few drops of food colouring (little by little to avoid clumps… and mix like Aidan does in this video… repeating “mix mix, roll roll” is optional 🙂
