Training starts

So turns out I can’t enter the race 🙁 my cousin is getting married that morning and there is no way I can fit a race into the day.
I decided this won’t change my training as I want to be able to run 5km straight out by then. I know this sounds rather easy, but running has never been a talent of mine.
So I have enlisted the help of “the husband” and this seems to be a win, lose situation.
Win because its nice to have someone to be accountable to and to push you when you wanna give up and lose because I recon all his experience doing basic training army/fire dept/police has rendered him unsymphathetic to the plight of the chronically unfit.
I was half expecting him to call me Maggot as he watched me puffing along while he played time keeper and later when I practically passed out on lounge floor there were no pep talks, just him asking me not to use all the hot water for my shower before stepping over me on his way to kitchen. (You’d think he’d be nicer after almost giving me a blue eye in squash the previous day).
Atleast he made me tea later…Anyway that’s day one gone, wish me luck 🙂

Home revamp continues

I have to do a very brave thing something that is going to take lots of will power and love… I’m going to have to have to let go of the decor reigns and have Rob take over decorating the tv-room.
This might seem silly and rather easy to do ,but when it comes to decor I am a bit of a bossy control freak, but after Rob pointed out that we need more male influence in the place if he is going to live in a house where the main living area has a “glamour theme” I decided to step back. Anyway now he is doing the tv-room…

It’s not that I don’t trust his judgement (even if he thinks I look good in a bikini-which I don’t) it’s just that up to a month ago he just could not care less what I did with decor and as long as their were no doilies or flower prints he was good to go. Now he wants a say, this is almost as annoying as when he reminded me that he was part of the wedding too…. ai Men,hehehe
(Meanwhile: the lounge is one coat of paint away from new-then I’ll post pics: Yes it occurs to me before pictures would have been a good idea, No I did’nt take any, Yes I’m dof)

Any way truth be told after hearing what he has planned for tv-room, I’m quite excited….. this is the inspiration behind the room, lets see how it goes 🙂

New beginning

The husband is finally back 🙂
Went to see him graduate today and it was pretty special. They had dog, horse and gun demonstrations, hand to hand combat and fighting with those baton things. They even had a car chase stopped by swat team (I know we call it something else in SA I just prefer swat) anyway its really great to see and best of all they let me bring home a souvenir , my hubby 🙂

Marriage Smarriage

The paper I work for is having a bride and groom competition and I was part of the team interviewing the finalists. Interviewing the couples made me think about my own marriage and I decided to interview my husband and myself, just for fun.
(was really tempted to change Robin’s answers to suit me, but I left them)
