So today’s post is a birthday card of sorts 🙂
I thought I’d share some info on my #ecmeetup co-host Luchae and tell you “our story” (because she has been super emo and I’m hoping you guys will go over to one of her social media pages and share some love)
So I met Luchae through email, before social media was super big around these parts, before fb even (giving away ages here).
Before and After
My awesome brainiac of a  cousin Desthea “Des” has recently decided to embrace the curl and cut off all her hair.
Des is really great, we get along like a house on fire. She is part mechatronics student, part paint/sketch artist, part photographer and completely crazy, which makes her even cooler 🙂
I chatted to her about what the big chop meant to her.
So why make dress-up boxing gloves? Well, Aidan is at a “LIKE YOU” stage. He wants to do everything Rob and I do. This includes boxing.
Please be under no illusions that I’m like a boxing person now.
Rob bought me a speed bag and showed me how to use it for stress relief. He himself has a punching bag and now Aidy wants in on the action with his inflatable doll thing that comes back up when you punch it – you know the type.
To make it more realistic I decided to make him some “dress-up boxing gloves” from felt here is how:
So Luchae (my Spreadsheet Brain) and I have had an unique hurdle to overcome when planning the blog meetup;
The fact that we have never actually been to one. Our day jobs have made sure that we are no strangers to events, be they lavish or understated, but! We haven’t actually attended a blogging meetup.
It was my birthday yesterday and to be honest I’m one of those awkward birthday people. I’m never sure how to react to people being nice to me solely because I was born today…a few years ago.
Anyway yesterday I listened to those taking about me and decided to own their sentiments.
Very excited to share another party with you guys!
Susan is a crafty mom (I know because the first time we chatted, she was reaching out about craft supplies) who is generously allowing us to take a peek at her daughter’s second birthday party… here goes.

Amber celebrated her 2nd birthday on 20 Feb 2016
How did you decide on theme?
From very small Amber seemed to be able to identify and make the sounds of all farm animals, and were the first ones she was able to verbally name. It seemed fitting to make this her party theme as she so easily and enthusiastically identified with them.
DIY or shop bought?
A bit of both. I tried to do as much by myself as humanly possibly, but I draw the line at themed serviettes, paper plates and bunting! We held it at our house and I arranged all activities myself. I also made the party packs, birthday cake and cupcakes (with some help).
Any behind the scenes blunders?
Thankfully nothing…that I’m aware of at least.
What was best part of the day?
Watching all the kiddies have a good time and enjoying the activities I was stressing myself out over. Also the compliments I received from the other mom’s made all the hard work so worthwhile, as it clearly didn’t go unnoticed and was appreciated by all
