So I’m typing this sitting in the middle of a war zone of sorts, I’m covered in sticky residue from Aidan’s snacks, his toys are everywhere and I’m sipping on a cup of coffee silently as I don’t want to wake him up…I’m tired and too lazy to tackle a bunch of projects I have going…freelance articles to write, photoshoots to set up, parties to plan oh not to mention sunday lunch needs to be prepared and I should consider a shower,so it’s safe to say I’m overwhelmed!!!! Thing is, I’m overwhelmed but in a good way! I’m HAPPY!!! Being a mom and wife and having my job and hobbies can get a lil much BUT it’s all on my own terms and I’m soooo blessed to have that. I have my day job where I get to design and organise and troubleshoot and be a grown up, it’s the good kind of challenging – especially since my recent promotion (still miss having Robyn at work though) then I have my “side job”, freelance writing, since I’m not a full time writer I get to write what I want to and when I want to (well sorta, deadlines are still deadlines and editor still need to “okay” my ideas) Photography is such a fun hobby, I get to do shoots on my own terms and plan or just whip out my camera and snap pics and just have fun, then there is all the party planning, I LOOOOVVVVEEEE IT! Love coming up with ideas and making it happen, esp for people I love. I also craft (with eye on prize of online store in future) and I’m co-authoring a book and trying to lose weight (I know it sounds like a lot, but I get bored easily-so I pretty much jump between projects) not to mention hanging out with friends, drives with my lil family and Aidan’s crazy social calender (seems it’s birthday season)
Then there is Robin and Aidan, they are my first priorities, and I must admit, growing up shy and feeling pretty much like an outsider, I never thought I’d ever experience love like this, Robin treats me like a queen(not counting times I have wanted to punch him,lol) and Aidan looks at me like I’m a super hero (a nappy changing, baby food making, boo-boo kissing super hero).
Then I have all these amazing friends and family…. I’m extremely blessed and looking at what I have been through in my 28+ years and all the obstacles I overcame I feel like I deserve a leeetle pat on my back, just a little one as all the glory still goes to God 🙂 BLESSED!

I’m so chuffed with myself I made, chamomile rooibos berry ice-tea its YUM and its only 40 something cals for 250mls

With the heat we are always looking for something refreshing but not too much sugar so I whipped this up:
1 litre freshly brewed chamomile rooibos
500ml berry juice (I used Krush which worked out to 260cals)

Tadah!!! Less calories more yum

For those of you who don’t follow me on twitter this is where I am with my #100HappyDays . . .

1.  Day 1:    It’s only right I start my challenge with the guys who have my heart 🙂
2.  Day 2:     Yes sugar free peanut butter is pointless if you are gonna scoff it in a spoon with smarties, but YUM!
3.  Day 3:   My daily pinterest fix keeps me happy 😀
4.  Day 4:     Being a mom brings me so much joy
5.  Day 5:    Love my crazy family, my sister and my son make me happy
6.   Day 6:     I love my mommy group
7.  Day 7:     The view on my way home (by train)…Blessed

Haven’t done fashion news in a while and was just thinking I really should when the following news popped into my inbox;

Victoria Secret model Joan Smalls – the same crazy hot model who can be seen shaking it with Beyonce  in her latest music video for, YONCE with Jourdan Dunn and Chanel Imam – yes THAT Joan Smalls is in the country!!!
Cape Town to be exact, she arrived this morning and will be in the country for the next few days to shoot an ad campaign with  Woolworths SA, as the face of their next Studio W
Ranked by Models.com as the #1 model in the world, Joan’s  has modelled for fashion houses like Gucci, Chanel, Fendi, Givenchy, Roberto Cavalli and many more.
The 25-year-old, who hails from Puerto Rico, has also walked for Victoria’s Secret as an Angel alongside her friend, local beauty, Candice Swanepoel, who coincidently was the face of the recent Woolworths RE: Summer- and Christmas campaigns.

My turn to host

We had another mother’s day meet-up this past weekend and it was my turn to play host. I was  pressed for time so ordered salads from my favourite coffee shop and cupcakes from the lady who is making Aidan’s birthday cake, I also made some fruit skewers and some faux fruit skewers( fruit shaped sweets).

Aidan ended up sleeping through most of the party, shame getting 5 teeth at the same time will do that to you…
Despite an ant invasion and grass that had lost it’s greenness we had a blast, we always enjoy each others company and having the kids interact with each other…I can see that the kids are becoming more and more difficult to handle now that they are more mobile, but ooooh soooo cute!

So I joined the happiness challenge at www.100happydays.com
I joined because a friend suggested it and my first thought was, sheesh who has time for that…this scared me, how can I not have time to be happy!
So I told myself to snap out of it, and here I am…. Day 1 (yesterday)
Every day I have to post a pic on twitter with the #100HappyDays so here goes…

Day one I chose my boys 🙂 It is such a blessing to come home to them and it warms my heart to watch them playing together
