have a great Tuesday

19th week already?

Week 19 starts today (according to latest scan) and along with that comes the sad news that the husband is off to training again, this time it’s just for two months, but I swear it already feels like a lifetime.
The house renovations and things also take place during this two month period which is not ideal.  Because I pretty much figure dealing with an often stressfull job and all the joys that come with the second trimester of pregnancy is enough for me without adding missing the husband and dodging builders. bleugh!
But that aside I’m very happy the pregnancy is going so well at the moment…. heres what babyzone says about the coming week:

19 Weeks Pregnant: Celebrity Baby Bumps
In your 19th week of pregnancy, your unborn baby’s organs continue to grow. His body is covered with lanugo—soft hairs and a sticky protective coating that keeps his skin from drying out in the amniotic fluid. Your baby is moving frequently, and by now you should be able to feel those movements. Your physician can hear your baby-to-be’s heartbeat with a stethoscope placed on your abdomen.

January time

So it’s JANUARY and this is what is happening in Eleanor land. . .
HOUSE WISE:
We are getting renovations done and I’m so excited by it, maybe that whole nesting thing people are always talking about is true, but I’m just so excited about  bringing baby into a newly done up place 🙂
Since we practically live in a cottage there is not much to do, and we not going over board because we plan on buying a place in about two years (currently renting from my parents) but the renovations are sure to make a difference – lucky for us the landlord is paying for most of the changes and all it’ll cost us is a little increase in rent 🙂
 * We redoing bathroom because the bathroom is currently so small you feel like you can take a shower while sitting on the toilet and brushing your teeth at the wash basin. okay maybe not THAT small but it’s really cramped and we need more space!
 * The room we are planning on using for the baby room is currently like an en suite office space. We use it to store stuff (I’m such a hoarder) but because we have an actual purpose with it now, it needs a coat of paint, a door and basically to be separated from our room. Can’t wait to have it all spruced up so we can start looking at cribs and other baby room paraphernalia
* We moving the cupboards in our room too, to give “jnr” some more space (It’ll make sense in the picas) so that will be fun, a new look in our bedroom. YEAH ME!
* We are also looking into re-covering the kitchen cupboards and getting a new little work surface and repainting whole place:)
CANT WAIT!!!
WITH THE HUBBY:
Robin is leaving again on Monday, some more police training, so we will be separated for just over two months. THAT’S SUCKINESS!!!
WORK LIFE:
I’m back at work and things seem to be less stressful, maybe it has something to do with me being a tad less  frazzled, nah prob just cos not every1 is back yet. It occurs to me that I only have four more “full months” at work before I’m off for maternity leave!!! Time flies WOW
I have a new passion I’m dying to pursue, Toddler photo shoots, no not those things in the malls with long lines of crying kids trying to get a picture with Santa or the Easter bunny, I’m talking about a little business where I take natural pictures of little children playing and hanging out. Roping a few mini models into helping me get a basic portfolio done, will show pics when I’m done.
UHM THAT’S IT FOR NOW 🙂

Louis Vuitton does not find Hangover 2 funny!

The luxury fashion brand, LOUIS VUITTON is suing Warner Bros. for using a counterfeit Louis Vuitton handbag in a scene of The Hangover Part II. Since you can’t pass a cheapo store without seeing a counterfeit LV, it seems kinda reasonable buuuuut in the movie, the prop was used as part of a joke.

The scene is set at an airport: the character Alan (Zach Galifianakis) carries a suitcase bearing the logo “LVM,” an obvious tip-off that the item is a fake (genuine Louis Vuitton bags are marked “LV”). “Careful,” Alan tells his friend, “that is a Louis Vuitton,” mispronouncing the name as “Lewis.”

In the movie, as in life, Alan is comically ridiculous for carrying a counterfeit. But it seems Louis Vuitton’s massive does’nt have a sense of humor.

The label is demanding that the film be removed from sale and seeking part of the film’s $580+ million profits and triple damages!!!

If you can’t beat them, wear them…Malema Jeans!?

Hardly known for his fashion sense, controversial politician Julius Malema seems to be going from being on every one’s lips to fashionista’s hips.
Pretoria designer Obakeng Ramabodu has announced an Malema-inspired fashion line and according to a reports, Ramabodu plans to launch the label at the ANC’s centenary celebrations in Mongaung this weekend.

Personally I’d rather opt for the Blackberry playbook inspired street wear courtesy of the Cape Town based fashion school, LISOF’s  Blackberry Second Year Design Collaboration paired perfectly with G-Star Jeans (well I would opt for it if jeans fit me at the moment)…. for more info go here

The 18th week

So this is my 18th week of being pregnant, and late last week already I’ve felt some rather suprising movements in my tummy area, wow amazingly weird and cool at the same time 🙂
Another cool fact is that they think it’s a BOY! never saw myself as a boy’s mom if that makes sense, I saw tea parties and dress up instead of playing with cars and kicking balls, but very excited for the challenge.

Here is what babyzone says I can expect in the coming week…
Pregnancy Week 18: All About Baby
At week 18, your baby-to-be’s senses are maturing. She’s able to hear sounds within her own comfortable environment, such as the sound of your heart beating, as well as external sounds, such as your voice. She may become more active for certain sounds, and you’ll feel her movements. At this point in her development she’s still small enough that she has plenty of room to wiggle.
