Some stock-taking

So I’m typing this sitting in the middle of a war zone of sorts, I’m covered in sticky residue from Aidan’s snacks, his toys are everywhere and I’m sipping on a cup of coffee silently as I don’t want to wake him up…I’m tired and too lazy to tackle a bunch of projects I have going…freelance articles to write, photoshoots to set up, parties to plan oh not to mention sunday lunch needs to be prepared and I should consider a shower,so it’s safe to say I’m overwhelmed!!!! Thing is, I’m overwhelmed but in a good way! I’m HAPPY!!! Being a mom and wife and having my job and hobbies can get a lil much BUT it’s all on my own terms and I’m soooo blessed to have that. I have my day job where I get to design and organise and troubleshoot and be a grown up, it’s the good kind of challenging – especially since my recent promotion (still miss having Robyn at work though) then I have my “side job”, freelance writing, since I’m not a full time writer I get to write what I want to and when I want to (well sorta, deadlines are still deadlines and editor still need to “okay” my ideas) Photography is such a fun hobby, I get to do shoots on my own terms and plan or just whip out my camera and snap pics and just have fun, then there is all the party planning, I LOOOOVVVVEEEE IT! Love coming up with ideas and making it happen, esp for people I love. I also craft (with eye on prize of online store in future) and I’m co-authoring a book and trying to lose weight (I know it sounds like a lot, but I get bored easily-so I pretty much jump between projects) not to mention hanging out with friends, drives with my lil family and Aidan’s crazy social calender (seems it’s birthday season)
Then there is Robin and Aidan, they are my first priorities, and I must admit, growing up shy and feeling pretty much like an outsider, I never thought I’d ever experience love like this, Robin treats me like a queen(not counting times I have wanted to punch him, lol) and Aidan looks at me like I’m a super hero (a nappy changing, baby food making, boo-boo kissing super hero).
Then I have all these amazing friends and family…. I’m extremely blessed and looking at what I have been through in my 28+ years and all the obstacles I overcame I feel like I deserve a leeetle pat on my back, just a little one as all the glory still goes to God 🙂 BLESSED!

My turn to host

We had another mother’s day meet-up this past weekend and it was my turn to play host. I was  pressed for time so ordered salads from my favourite coffee shop and cupcakes from the lady who is making Aidan’s birthday cake, I also made some fruit skewers and some faux fruit skewers( fruit shaped sweets).

Aidan ended up sleeping through most of the party, shame getting 5 teeth at the same time will do that to you…
Despite an ant invasion and grass that had lost it’s greenness we had a blast, we always enjoy each others company and having the kids interact with each other…I can see that the kids are becoming more and more difficult to handle now that they are more mobile, but ooooh soooo cute!

So I’m learning to make balloon animals :)

Did you know I can make balloon animals, well technically I can make, a dog, a elephant, a bird and a flower, which is a far cry from when I could only make things like sausages and worms…
Why do you ask? Well because I have always wanted to know how and because I think it would be a pleasant addition to my son’s first birthday party….
I know I have been all ho hum lately and that is just not me, so I thought I’d share some pleasant news J
IM IN THE PARTY ZONE PEOPLE!!!
Any regular blog readers would know I LOVE LOVE “WISH IT WAS MY JOB” LOVE planning parties/get togethers … funny enough I’m not big on hosting I just want to plan and step away…
Right now I’m in the midst of planning things pretty close to home … here they are in order of date…
-It’s my turn to host the mommy’s get together lunch…everyone is coming to my hometown for snacks and cupcakes and chats about everything , and I mean  EVERYTHING! I find you can’t do too much different with a picnic for 10 moms and their busy body baba’s , but I’ll add a touch of me to it, because I can J
-Then it is my niece Taylor’s birthday, her mom wanted to do something small yet pretty for her little princess and we have just had the biggest blast looking at ideas to bring a little “royal tea-party” together. It’s going to be held in our front yard  with the emphases on “tiny royals” Tay is pretty easy though, she’d be happy with a cake and a pretty dress, but we are trying to amp it up because she deserves it.
-Then the one that’s giving me a little stress, my own baba’s 1st birthday party, we going with a barnyard picnic theme and I’m super excited to share this momentous occasion with all our loved ones…. I’m thinking little picnic baskets, farm themed foods and a jumping castle, but mostly just family hanging out  and thanking God for this amazing year J Yes there are  practically three more months to go, I like to be prepared, hehehehe
*Will post tons of pics*

Happy Monday peeps

I’ve been super emo and introspective lately…Like what is it I want from my life and so forth and so on. . .
Eish this happens every now and again…the curse of the creative I think, OVERTHINKER DELUX!!!
Went to the park with my lil family to clear my head, it helped a bit, sometimes you just need to chill…
HAPPY MONDAY ALL!

No more pictures mommy!

A friend reminded me how I used to joke that once Aidan is born he would be the most photographed baby ever, uhm looks like that premonition is coming true. . . oops

(don’t worry I intend to respect his privacy when he is a little older, hehe)
