DIY Doggy jersey

So my sister brought home two dogs, one of which is a tiny little thing that was freezing her lil bum off, Her constant shivering made me feel really bad for , her so I decided to make a little sweater/jersey/top thing to help keep her warm, here is what I did:

What you need:
  • A pair of old tights or sleeve off a old jersey/sweater (I went for warm tights that I never wear because one leg seems to be smaller than the other-go figure)
  • scissors
  • anything you’d want to use for embellishing (I went for pink ribbon because without that I was sure she’s look like she was wearing
  • measuring tape (goodluck trying to measure a wriggling little puppy)

What you do:

  1. Measure the dog from neck to hind legs and then from neck to front legs
  2. Use the first measurment to determine the length of “sleeve” or “pants leg” you need
  3. Cut off  the “cylinder” you need
  4. Then use the second measurement to determine where you need to cut holes for front legs
make the leg holes a third of the way up
  5. Then attach your embellishment with needle and thread / or sew free glue 🙂

YEAH CUTE DOG!!!!

So this weekend I . . .

Built a little memorial garden in our front yard. A very good friend of mine reminded me that I had set out to build one and just never got around to it. So armed with sandpaper, paint, flowering plants and gardening supplies I set out to make a little “Love Garden” in honour of Logan.
According to the experts, “A memorial garden provides a long-lasting tribute to a loved one who has passed away, as well as offers a place for the survivors to remember and to heal”
This is what I hope my tiny little garden will be.

WHAT I DID:

I sanded the concrete fence behind the section I’m using for a garden, I then painted it green, with little hand painted flowers, I also painted a section of it with chalk board paint so I could write down what ever mantra/phrase or verse was in my heart at the time.  (keep in mind handy work is not my thing and I now have a new found respect for painters)

It currently reads “No Fear, Just Faith” and “Love Live Laugh” both phrases that have deep meaning in my life in the moment.

I found a old bird bath among my moms gardening things and gave it a fresh coat of paint, I also picked up some pretty Chrysanthemums from a local nursery.
It is all a work in progress, but then again so is my healing . . .

Have a great week 🙂

Late night art attack

So tonight (yes its after midnight)- for no reason I can think of -I thought I’d try my hand at sketching, usually if I’m feeling creative I’d grab my camera or sewing kit or even record a song but tonight I saw robs art supplies and thought, why not?
I have NO delusions of “undiscovered talent” but am pretty proud of my first attempt 🙂

Three ingredient peanut butter cookies- THE BEST EVA!!!!!!!!

ate mine too quickly to take a pic, but they basically look like this picture I stole off the net

So it’s that time of the year again slap bang in the middle of spending all your money on the holidays and finally getting paid again. That does not stop the sweet tooth, but there is a solution, these yummy yummy peanut butter biscuits. They are so simple to make, but seem to disappear REALLY QUICKLY!

Ingredients:
cup of peanut butter
cup of sugar (you can get away with a little less)
a egg

Method:
mix and bake 🙂 don’t try shake and bake that’s only funny in the movie Talladega nights 🙂
-use 180 degree oven for 6-8 minutes until lightly brown (yes peanut butter is already brown but you’ll know it when you see it)
