It may be quite a while since I was last pregnant so the memories might be foggy…but from what I can remember not every day was as magical as the ads in baby mags would have you believe.
With this in mind I have a great prize for two new or expecting moms…because sometimes you need a little something for you. Can you even remember the last time someone asked you how YOU were without meaning the baby/pregnancy.
This is a list of people who can suck it…I was going to call this post people who can go f themselves, but I actually only cuss when I’ve had wine, and I’m all out of wine (it’s been a tough week).
I am writing this because I’m so fed up with annoying people and sometimes I just need to moan to the internet.
So recently I attended the Baby Dove Launch in Cape Town. They flew me up for brunch like I was some sort of Kardashian, which I am not going to lie, was pretty awesome.
Now the thing is, I’m human, fly me to somewhere fancy and feed my face and my opinion could be swayed BUT I am also a journalist first and foremost so I thought, just in case I sound like I’m gushing for the sake of gushing I am going to let you hear more than just my opinion-fair right? (can I just say that I’m not saying any of the other moms would ever be swayed, they know what’s up, I just thought this would be a fun way to do it)
I love handcrafted gifts, there is something so special about…”I thought about you and put in the effort and the talent I have in to make you this”
This is not always feasible though, I know this first hand because I always have a friend or family member asking me to help them craft something. They usually claim they don’t have the skill set (glueing things down is a skill set now? Hmmmm, I see you) but I think it is more of a time thing.
We live in an instant gratification world, very few people have the patience or time to “wait 24 hours something to dry before applying second coat”.

So a while back Consol asked if I would like to be part of an experiment, they send me glass jars and things and I see what I can come up with.
I had to read the email a couple of times because HECK YES! I want to make things with Consol glass. I make things with glass all the time like sewing kits or bath salt.
So what did I do? I decided to make a weeks worth of things to pack in my lunch box…
