Life at a glance:
Sooooo what happening in my world at the moment? Well I blow dried my hair for the first time since like October last year-should be curly again by the weekend. I’m really not good at being one of those neatly styled people…I’m just not. What else?
Well I’m having a gastric scope and biopsy done tomorrow which will hopefully give me some answers regarding me being one size in the morning and bloating by two sizes by afternoon, not to mention this pain associated with eating thing, and the nausia (this one gave me a bit of a scare) I’m also having extensive allergy tests done because having every meal cause you pain is apparently not normal, neither is constant, gnawing hunger…..ooooh maybe after treatment I can start losing weight – a girl can hope can’t she.
Work is interesting, I’m swamped and stressed out, which means things are right on track for this office, hehehe. I’m still looking for freelance writing opportunities though, so hold thumbs, or better yet employ me 😉
On the home front, I want to kill Rob with impressive regularity which must mean we are still happily married :p and Aidan is becoming such a little busy body I need to take vitamins just to keep up, I kid you not!!! The kid can’t walk yet, but he gets around and on/in/under things so fast I’m ashamed to say I have uttered the words “where the heck is Aidan now” more than once…
On the getting healthy and not rolling after each other at the beach this Dec front: Rob and I have decided to give up take-aways or at least limit to once a month(maybe twice so each of us gets a turn to chose) so we will be going back to exclusively home cooked meals and packed lunches…Rob still gyms, I’ve frozen my gym contract because I just can’t get there (working hours + lack of gym buddy + taking the train for a month or two again to save money = me paying gym fees like it’s some sort of charity)…so now I need to find alternative form of exercise, for at least the next 6 months (that is how long I’m frozen for-after which I will be coming into city with car again and will hopefully have gym partner again) Anyways that is where I am and where things are…
HAPPY TUESDAY, Oh did I mention this is officially my last year as a 20something…time to work on me before 30 list
BEFORE 30 LIST….
-
Start a before 30 list
happy birthday me
- Readers of my blog know that I’m not big on parties and such for my birthday and that the last two years have been very uncelebrateworthy (yes I made that word up) but this year, the last one in my 20s I thought maybe I should do supper or something or something. My friend Sal over at The Silly Little Blog had spoken and tweeted about this great little place in Richmond Hill where you can watch movies under the stars ALLEY CAT …
- So a few friends joined me in celebration by watching the hilarious Bridesmaids –even though the setting lends itself more to like Casablanca and such-I made a few party packs and we had a blast, thank you to everyone who made this birthday a reason to smile …. Alley Cat is AWESOME by the way and so is the owner Yvonne who could not be more sweet and accommodating if she tried, we had a blast and next time (yes there will be a next time) I will be having home made ice-cream J
(My pictures still giving me problems but if you click on it, you will get the unblurry version)

What I wore Wednesday . . .
So I haven’t done outfit posts in ages, mostly because I gained weight and wasn’t feeling post worthy, but then I thought despite gyming and eating better I’m not going to wake up a size 6 tomorrow so I should just embrace my “now me” on the way to “fit and healthy me” so here are three of my favorite outfits from last week.

Is your family destined for cooking greatness?

| Host Zuraida Jardine with judges, Belgian master chef Coco Reinarhz and Chef Extraordinaire Martin Kobald and clover mascots |
For the cooking show lover in all of us – whether you are out and proud or it’s your dirty little secret – comes a great new South African cooking concept!!!
Starting in May this year and hosted by television and radio personality Zuraida Jardine the Clover Little Big Cook Off is a chance for parents and children to put their skills to the test.
In this world-first cooking challenge, children and their parents will go up against other food-mad families on national television. These teams will out-cook and out-whisk each other over thirteen weeks of baking, frying and spatula-waving action in a bid to become the champions and win fantastic prizes, countrywide acclaim and see their recipes published in the Clover Little Big Cook Off Recipe Book.
Entries for a family team opened on 1 February 2014 and will close on the 10 April 2014.
Thereafter Clover will be holding closed auditions to select the 27 families who have the skills and talent to appear on the Clover Little Big Cook Off.
The first heat runs over nine episodes with the show kicking off at 17:00 on Saturdays during May 2014 on SABC3. Each episode sets three teams of two against one another as they fight to be the one chosen to appear in the finals. Then, in a build up to the finish, there will be 3 semifinals ending in one grand finale whereby the final three teams will vie for the chance to win the coveted prizes and be the best Little Big Cooking team in South Africa.
“We can’t wait to see what untapped talent will emerge from homes across the country,” says Sherian King, brand group manager for Dairy at Clover. “It is going to be hard to choose the 27 teams that will appear in round one as there are so many people who can do incredible things with food in this country. The show is a superb opportunity for South Africans to show us what they¹re made of in the kitchen.”
It’s time to pack your lucky cheese grater, prepare your team and enter the Clover Little Big Cook Off. Who knows, you could soon be jetting off on holiday and autographing recipe books.
The Clover Little Big Cook Off is looking for people to step up and enter a family team of two before 10 April 2014. All that’s needed is a purchase of any two Clover Dairy promotional products and to follow the instructions on the back of the packs. A family could win prizes valued up to R1, 000, 000 that include an overseas holiday for seven nights, a kitchen makeover worth R300, 000 and a chance to have their recipes published in the Clover Little Big Cook Off Recipe Book.
