Day 7: Turn offs

mayazankoul.com

Four things that turn me off people, this is a good day to ask me this so here goes:

1. Dumb people – Cant stand people who put ignorance/pregidous on show, saying stupid things that could hurt others just for the sake of saying something

2. Racist people – Seriously there are so many reasons not to like people race should be last on the list, lol

3. People who dress for a different age group or different size, yes Im not perfect I get it wrong too (more than i care to mention) but seriously if you are a 14 dont wear a 8, it does you know favours and lumo tights with colour blocking tops are cute and all not if your 40+ sorry

4. Littering! esp out of cars it makes my blood boil

Day6 : People in my life

I am extremely lucky that I have so many people to count on, I feel blessed every day that I never go without a shoulder to cry on, a warm embrace or a kind word. Sometimes I feel disconnected and lonely but deep down I know I will never be alone because I am surrounded by so much love.
This is what makes today’s task so difficult, how do I chose just 5 people who mean a lot to me, that’s crazy talk!
I’ve decided to go with family, people I am around most so here goes my list (even if it’s a bit of a copout)

1. My husband, Robin Meyers, he is truly the best decision I have ever made, we have our ups and downs and have each wished the other could go on a weekend away…hehehe…but when all said and done, he means the world.

2. My Mom, Angie Douglas, we were not always THAT tight, but with time I’m proud to say she is probably one of my best friends we talk about every thing, deep serious conversations about spirituality and life and then conversations about who looks better in a wrap dress, I’m extremely blessed to have her in my life …

3. My Dad, Allan Douglas, We fight LOTS AND LOTS but we love each other, we have a very special bond. The best thing about my Dad (especially now that I’m older) is that he is never to “big” to say sorry if he did something wrong, he taught me about being humble and has always treated me with respect even when I was just a little girl, I know that is something I will always treasure.

4. My little sister, Anthea, She is substantially younger, 9 years to be exact but she’s always been wise beyond her years and is this great combination of ballsy go-getter and vulnerability, never know whether to protect her or just follow her lead.

5. My brother, Allister, We don’t always click, seriously, sometimes I cant believe we come from the same gene pool, but no matter what, I know he always has my back and he knows I always have his, there is great comfort in that…

Day 5: Things I wish I never did

There’s this saying, which has something to do with all your past decisions defining who you are now so you should never wish away anything…But even so I’m sure everyone has a few things they would love a do over for here are mine

 I WISH:

1. I’d never let others’ opinions of me define me

 2. I was never embarressed by any aspect of “who I am” – for a while that was my accent as EVERYONE had an opinion…too prim and proper for some too “local” for others

3. I never cut my hair, miss my long locks

4. I never had to bury my son without having the chance to hold him

5. I never got in the habit of being so scatter brained

6. I never let someone (an ex) make me believe I wasn’t worthy of love

day4: Things that cross my mind

Seven things that cross my mind alot

This one is tough Im one of those people who always have a million thoughts in their minds…but here goes nothing…

1. Why are people so stupid-why do they say such hurtful things…I hope I’m not that stupid, If I was I hope people know I didnt mean to be

2. Why does my dad keep interupting me when I talk, if the conversation even hints at not being upbeat he just changes the subject, he’s been doing this for a while as a way to keep me from being sad I guess, but it’s getting super annoying

3. Am I in the right career, infact, what should I be doing with my life? is this it? I don’t know if I’m ok with this being it

4. Which statement is true, “God uses bad things in your life to test you” or “Bad things happen despite God’s involvement, but he is there to help you out”

5. Why am I so TIRED!!!!

6. Will I ever be in shape again, I know round is a shape, but it’s not my favourite

7. Why do bad things happen to good people and why do some people seemingly float through life on a bubble of goodluck?

Day 3: ways to steal my heart

Eight ways to steal my heart:

1. Say thank you, I’m one of those people that REALLY appreciates people showing appreciation
2. Be an adorable toddler, my nieces all have my heart no questions asked
3. Give me food ,it’s a well known fact that I respond well to being given snacks
4. Don’t treat me like an idiot, few things on earth annoy me as much as being spoken to like I’m slow on the uptake
5. Treat other people with respect, cocky arrogant attitudes make me want to puke
6. Don’t make stupid comments about my son, so many people do and I DO NOT APPRECIATE IT
7. Don’t make stupid comments about my current pregnancy, being too soon or a bad idea, you don’t know my heart. My husband, doctor and therapist are with me, your opinion is not needed.
8. Be Robin Damien Meyers, meaning; don’t be afraid to argue with me, be willing to apologise or to accept an apology, love me and make me feel respected, smart and beautiful and make me feel just that little bit stronger because you are near 🙂
