Practically instant fruitcake recipe

3 INGREDIENT FRUITCAKE

I like baking ,but we don’t always have tons of ingredients in the house so I love these minimal ingredient recipes, anything less than 6 ingredients is just what the “lazy kitchen”doctor ordered.

There are many variations of this recipe on the net, but I went for the chocolate option. With the other recipes the chocolate milk can be swapped for wine or fruit juice. . .

A song that “gets me”

Every now and again you find a song that really touches you, not the club anthems where you just like the beat and feel like a good boody shake, I’m talking about a song where you listen to the lyrics and you are like, “uhm how did the song writer get in my head just there” like in the words of the classic song by Roberta Flack (redone by Fugees) Killing Me Softly, “I felt he found my letters and read each one out loud.”
You sit in awe of how the singer/writer GETS IT! well with all the emotional upheaval I’ve been through this year I found just such a song, a song that speaks to my soul and reminds me that God has been looking out for me, every time I have fallen he has been ready to pick me up.
I believe that trusting in God doesn’t give you a free pass when it comes to bad things happening in your life, but it does gives you one heck of a strong anchor when the storms of life rage. The song All This Time, by Britt Nicole, highlights that for me go HERE for the video

All This Time lyrics
I remember the moment
I remember the pain
I was only a girl
But I grew up that day
Tears were falling
I know You saw me

Hiding there in my bedroom
So alone
I was doing my best
Trying to be strong
No one to turn to
That’s when I met You

All this time
From the first tear cried
‘Til today’s sunrise
And every single moment between
You were there
You were always there
It was You and I
You’ve been walking with me all this time
Oh, Oh Oh, Oh, Oh
You’ve been walking with me all this time

Ever since that day
It’s been clear to me
That no matter what comes
You will never leave
I know You’re for me
And You’re restoring

Every heartache and failure
Every broken dream
You’re the God who sees
The God who rescued me
This is my story
This is my story——

All this time
From the first tear cry
Til today’s sunrise
And every single moment between
You were there
You were always there
It was You and I
You’ve been walking with me all this time
Ooooooooh
You’ve been walking with me all this time

I hear these people asking me
How do I know what I believe?
Well I’m not the same me
And that’s all the proof I need
I felt love, I felt Your grace
You stole my heart that day

Ooooooooh
You’ve been walking with me all this time

All this time
From the first tear cry
Till today’s sunrise
And every single moment between
You were there
You were always there
It was You and I
You’ve been walking with me all this time

Ever since the first tear cry
It was You, You and I
You’ve been walking with me all this time
Ever since the first tear cry
It was You, You and I
You’ve been walking with me all this time

Designer showcase: Stoned Cherrie

So I decided it’s time I get back to showcasing South African brands and where better to start than the home grown, African in every stitch, Stoned Cherrie, label?

I love Stoned Cherrie, it’s a eclectic mix of high fashion and traditional with plenty of MUST HAVES for the Afro chic chick:

Stoned Cherrie, is an afro-urban lifestyle brand that is said to be expressive of African urban culture in South Africa. It was established in 2000 by the ultra impressive Nkensani Nkosi (you know award winning entrepreneur, television personality and actress, who happens to hold a degree in Industrial Psychology and Sociology and writes articles for O Magazine, Y-Mag, Going Up, amongst others) and has grown in the past twelve years to gain international appeal and saw the label being invited to exhibit at New York Fashion Week in 2009.

3 ingredient brownies

– Fridays in my book are either about food or fashion, today it’s food 🙂
If you are looking for a sweet snack this weekend try these three ingredient brownies, it’s yummy yummy and that was not a typo , I said 3 ingredients!
I  first found this recipe on www.Laurassweetspot.com love her 🙂
so I tried it myself and added two more ingredients which I decide later was not necessary

What you need:

– A cup of chocspread
– two eggs
– 10 TBS flour

What you do

– Pre-heat the oven
– Mix ingredients (melt choc spread in microwave to help with mixing)
– spread between 12 muffin cups and bake for 12 minutes
– it should come out soft and delicious

What I thought

– These bites are really yum, but I find it doesn’t keep very well – two days later they were kinda dry. (actually the one that survived was dry)
That’s okay because you can whip them up and finish it all  in one afternoon and then feel bad because 12 brownies are not great for the waist line 😉
SO MAKE THEM AND SHARE!!!

2 Broke Girls- LOVE THEM

My current TV obsession is 2BrokeGirls, LOVE IT LOVE IT
Not only because the people playing Max and Caroline, Kat Dennings and Beth Behrs are super cute (see below) But because the show is so funny! funny! inappropriate and super funny! (see below’er)

QUOTES FROM SEASON 1

Max: Oh my God, you have a shoe rotisserie!
Caroline: I designed it. I call it my Ferris Heels.
Max: I’d judge you if that wasn’t exactly what I’d call it if I had one.

Caroline: Sushi! I hope you like crabroll.
Max: I never had sushi.
Caroline: That doesn’t even make sense.

Max: But the name sucks a big one! Homemade? It sounds like home-schooled. Like we’re churning out cupcakes that aren’t comfortable around other people.

Caroline: I smiled, and bent over backwards giving them service all for a dollar and forty-seven cents? This makes me the lowest paid hooker in New York.

Caroline: What’s the interest rate on your credit card?
Max: Dunno. My interest rate in this conversation is zero.

Max: So what, is she still your girlfriend?
Johnny: Max it’s complicated.
Max: What are we on Facebook?

Han: Max, why did you kick out the hipsters?
Max: Because I cannot be in the background of another Instagram photo!

Oleg: Fifty dollars for a hamburger? For that much money, it should eat me first.

Max: I kissed Johnny
Caroline: What?! When?
Max: He came by the apartment right after you left.
Caroline: I was only gone twenty minutes. What did you do, shine a bat symbol on your vagina?

Caroline: I also learned she’s a dancer, her lip gloss is from Kiehl’s, and she’s school chums with Adele.
Max: Not THE Adele! Damn, could she be any cooler? I want her to be my girlfriend. I wouldn’t break up with her for me.

Max: You’re not my type anyway! You’re a bartender who’s close to liquor all night, and you’re not an alcoholic. So, clearly, you don’t know how to seize an opportunity.

Sophie: Stop, this is not dental school interview, this is scrubbing toilets, in or out?
Caroline: We’re in, all the way.
Max: In my experience, when someone has to tell you they’re all the way in, you better hope their tongue works.

Caroline: Earl, does she look like a hooker.
Earl: I don’t like to judge a book by its cover. But if she was a book, she would be the kind that other books paid for sex.

Detective: He lived alone, been dead two weeks
Max: Cats eat his face?
Caroline: Max! Can you not be so dark?
Max: Kittens eat his face?

Max: It’ll be fun. Just think of it as a middle school sleepover.
Caroline: With Drugs
Max: Yeah, a middle school sleepover.

Earl: Why Johnny, if it isn’t the famous street artist.
Johnny: I’m hardly famous.
Earl: I know, my comment was laced with sarcasm.
