So it’s week 26

25 Week tummy

I’m basically two months away from maternity leave. Seriously how did that happen? One moment I was peeing on a stick, and momentarily confused at what one and a half lines meant (I then got more of those little science experiments out to make sense of the “you are pregnant” the first test was clearly hinting at – 5 tests of varying makes and strengths couldn’t be wrong, we were having a baby! )
I remember Robin’s excitement and me not really being sure which emotion to display. My emotions were like a volatile cocktail, One part excitement, one part confusion, one part annoyance at husband (well he was far to calm for my liking and with no prospect of growing a baby in him and having to do the birthing thing, I could see why) then one part flabbergasted dashed with loads of WOW this is actually happening.
Its 20 week’s since then: I’ve seen and heard a heart beat, found out I was carrying a boy, I’ve freaked out about my size and the irony of water retention (how can I be retaining water and looking sooo swollen and at the same time running to the bathroom every second) I’ve felt the annoyance that is late onset morning sickness, felt smug about the lack of stretch marks and then depro about the cellulite that took it’s place. I’ve felt time draaaagggg as I can’t wait to meet my little man and felt time speed off as I feared the whole motherhood thing.
But all in all it’s been an interesting ride and there are 3 more months to go….
Here goes nothing

26 Weeks Pregnant: Managing Stress While You're Expecting

Pregnancy Week 26: All About Baby (babyzone.com)

During your 26th week of pregnancy, your baby-to-be opens her eyes for the first time. She’ll open and shut her eyes as she gets used to her new ability. Your little one is still on the small side. Her body may look fully formed on the outside, but inside there’s fine-tuning taking place, including her lungs and her brain. Your unborn baby still has some growing to do!

Welcome to the blogosphere, Super Sal

Those of you who visit my blog on a Friday, know all about my friend the reluctantly recovering shoe addict ,Salama, and her love of things fabulous [ that’s why we are such good friends, me being fabulous and all – WHAT? I didn’t say she had a love of all things humble 🙂 ]  anyways she has started her own blog and I like to think my gentle prodding (go on do it, doooo it, just doooooo it, why don’t you do it, you know! you should doooooooo it, so you do it? because you should do it…) has helped her see the light and join the blogosphere 🙂

She entitled her blog THE SILLY LITTLE BLOG (click on the name here and you’ll see for yourself) but it’s anything but silly. Sal talks about the things she cares about, friends, family, food and fashion (the alliteration was not intentional)  So pop around

There are some cool outfit posts:

And places to check out.

Loving the blog Sal! You guys should check it out, but don’t desert me, like check us both out (nothing worse than introducing a friend to a friend and they like each other so much you are the third wheel, so don’t turn my blog into a third wheel, but DO check out Sal’s uber cool blog)

Feeling slightly grey

I haven’t blogged in a while, just been sooooo busy, seriously I fall asleep at the drop of a hat and spend most of the day feeling like a zombie. I get up at 5.30am to get ready for work and unless I’m really lucky I’m at the office until six every night and reach home at 7pm.
Meanwhile my ever expanding girth makes it difficult to maneuver around and people’s insensitive comments makes it difficult not to smack them (a lady at doctor’s office-old friend of my gran’s- who assumed i was there because I was sick tells me I’d be less sick if I looked at my diet “you are really fat now” another woman tells me that being pregnant is no reason to let myself go which was really nice to hear as the baby’s really low position actually makes simple things like walking difficult and my water retention problem has me looking like a stuffed toy)
At the same time I’m going through a bit of a quarter life crisis thing (its a few weeks before my birthday, it always happens) I feel like Im just not living up to my potential like I should be doing something more with my life. I know I’m not alone on this as a few of my friends seem to be going through the same, “so is this it? shouldn’t I be doing more” dilemma.
My theory for myself is that I’m one of those “Jack of all trades, master of none” kinds who don’t have one talent that stands out enough for THAT to be what I should be doing with my life.
Maybe it’s boredom, maybe it’s over 6 months with no wine or sushi? I don’t know, all I know is that, apart from being extremely excited about the husband coming home and baby being born, I don’t feel very anything, I feel Grey! ja that’s it, if Grey was an emotion that would be my emoticon . . .

Is it just me or is time flying – week 25

I bought my first real baby thing, yeah me! a Nap-Sac by Lily Gold this is basically a baby bag that can be transformed int a changing station or a little temporary bed for little one: I love multi-functionality, I really do:
(mine is black because red was a little too diva for a little boy)

Also, my friend, Durelle, brought me a baby calendar this morning and I was practically shocked off my chair at the size and abilities of  baby at the moment, think baby found my shock funny because he has been kicking up a storm ever since: This is what babyzone has to say:

Pregnancy Week 25: All About Baby

Your baby-to-be’s lungs are developing rapidly, although she’d probably need a little help breathing if she were born at this point. Her respiratory system continues to develop, her nostrils are open, and she can breathe—but she won’t take her first breath of air until delivery day. By your 25th week of pregnancy, her reproductive organs are formed (in boys, the testes have descended). Her skin is translucent and wrinkled, and she can hear your stomach when it gurgles and your voice when you sing. Your baby is becoming more aware of how she can move—she’s wiggling her fingers and toes!

25 Weeks Pregnant: Pampering Yourself

Fashion Friday Part1/Natalie Creed Part2

After changing jobs to the design/layout side of things I realised that I really missed writing actual articles, then it hit me, whats stopping me? I could always interview people I find facinating  and share the stories with my blog readers, so that’s what I’v decided to do. And to start things off I have interviewed local designer Natalie Creed (pics posted yesterday)

The name Natalie Creed has become pretty well-known in fashion circles especially when it comes to mohair, and now the design diva is spreading her wings with the relaunch of her eponymous label.
After winning a number of awards and traveling the world promoting her BabyMo Creed range, she has become a bit of a force when it comes to natural fibres and with that “title” firmly under her belt Natalie has decided to hone some of her other skills and show fashionistas that her talents go a little further than the mohair synonymous with the Eastern Cape.
“I’m not involved with BabyMo Creed at all anymore, nor am I working with mohair. After a good few years working solely in the medium, I’ve decided to put it aside and explore a wider variety of fabrics and fibres,” says the first ever Fashion Brand award winner at the Bay Style Awards.
Eager for a new challenge Natalie has decided to channel her love of fashion in this new direction and is excited about the prospect.
“It was a big job change and a few other factors that made me decide to relaunch my label. It also just feels like the right time; before I was [text removed] less experienced, I feel like I am ready to do this now and to put everything I have into it,” she says.
Her summer collection is light and breezy and showcases the casual elegance her fans have come to expect.
“I really just take inspiration from everything around me, daily experiences, things I see as I work and travel, and from experimenting with fabrics and techniques,” she said.
Natalie is currently working on orders from her summer collection as well as working on a winter collection that is scheduled for release at the end of the month.
Natalie’s clothes are available through direct order. Photo’s and prices can be found at facebook (click here) and orders should be emailed to info@nataliecreed.com or phone 081 470 1947.  She also has stock at Mememe in Cape Town
