I’m happy/sad/excited/sad because . . .

I’m currently suffering from PMS (presently mental syndrome) it sucks I’ve been happy , sad, angry, teary and excited and that is just from six this morning.
Had an incident yesterday where my interaction with other people was questioned, it was said that I interupt people’s conversations, change topics and don’t listen well (like I’m kinda self involved), I cried for a looooonnnnnnnng time on that one – part PMS, part “omg am I one of those people?!?”
I’m feeling better today, figure that I would have considerably less people want to spend time with me if I was THAT bad. Also most of my friends talk LOTS (sorry, but you do) so I have developed this “my turn, my turn” attitude to get words in edge wise (still sorry if I ever do that to non verbose people,it’s rude and I  don’t mean to) and I realise that there is always room for growth with every person and you are never to old to learn, blah blah blah. . .
Hmmm what was my point, oh ja I’m not in a good mind space, hate being like this, so flippen moody, I’m like our local weather where you need to wear a raincoat with your shorts, WTH!

Wish me luck, this insanity thing I’m suffering from is not working for me! and it makes me EAT EAT EAT (ok I make me EAT EAT EAT, but this is a nice excuse) 🙂

What did you get up to since last we spoke?

I tried out yoga this morning. It’s not my first time, I’ve done it before, A couple of years ago I went to this class where we were trained by candle light and I enjoyed it (specially being more fit than the bunch of models who I went with, hehe), but then I became lazy (that’s my problem right there, I have the attention span of a geriatric goldfish)
But since my doctor told me that meds I’m on for the next six months is more than likely to make me gain weight I decided to be proactive and get some exercise into my life. (and eat less than a hormonal teenager, if possible)
So starting today (knock on wood) I’m doing yoga every morning (got this beginners CD that I’m going to be trying out while I’m on waiting list for local yoga class-yes there is a waiting list) then Monday and Wednesday evenings I’m joining my brother’s girlfriend for Zumba and Tuesdays and Thursdays I’m going back to squash with the hubby.
Wish me luck because I tend to have High hopes and Low outcomes when it comes to fitness, hehe.
The yoga from this morning is already showing results, no I’m not suddenly toned and in line for a guest appearance on Bay Watch, but my calf muscles are EINA!!! so painful people. I wear flat shoes for the walk from the train in the morning, but this morning I could have been wearing stilts. It’s so sore at first I thought it was the cold that had my calves and thighs sore from the bone! but realised that putting on heels when I got to work made me feel MUCH better so recon it’s just my muscles not used to actual movement, the heels seem to be stretching it.
I’ll give an update on Friday to let you know how my “new active lifestyle” is going.
SERIOUSLY wish me luck

Monday catch up

Sooo these are 10 things I learnt this weekend

1. Robin still wants a dog, we house/pet sat this weekend and I was kinda hoping that spending time with four dogs and a cat (each with their own quirks) would have put a stop to his wanting of a pet, but no such luck (I like animals, I’m just not the pet having type)
2. My curly hair is seriously on it’s way back, but then I need to wet it every morning to reactivate curls and I’m actually quite lazy for these things.
3. I still want to loose weight, but much less than before because seeing photos from when I was younger/skinnier have left me thinking-damn give that girl a burger, I actually prefer some curves.
4. Being nominated for a style award makes you look at your own style and be all judgemental, because you feel like people think that you now think you’re all stylish and if you don’t pull a look off they can be all, “so much for that nomination” -What to wear, what to wear…
5. I worry to much about what other people think, I need to stop that.
6. I like my husband, lol, that seems like a given, hehe. I’ve always loved him, but this weekend I thought about it and I really like him, he gets me and should get an award just for that.
7. I sometimes get jealous of things I don’t really want a part of, like if I see people doing hip hop dancing I’m all, oooh wish I could do that (but I would not wanna put in the time for practise) and when my friends went hiking this weekend I was all bumbed I couldn’t go (even though I’m really not a fan of carrying a heavy bag and sleeping in a sleeping bag-that’s not my bag baby …lame Austin Powers joke…)
8. I realised I’m loosing my voice, not the talking one (sorry to all those who were hoping, hehe) the singing one, I didn’t know that was possible, I guess it’s use it or loose it.
9. I figured out that my niece, Kameron actually does know my name, but prefers to call me other Robin to annoy me.
10. I like being me, insecurities, quirks, extreme appetite and all

Breaking news in elle land

No need to stop the presses, nothing uber exciting or world changing is happening, but every now and again I like to give an update on how things are in my little piece of the world (you know the piece that I’m told doesn’t revolve around me-but I’m sure it does)
— Iv been nominated for a bay style award which is flattering/surprising/nerve wrecking (its this new award thing in NMB where I live where they highlighting stylish brands, places and ppl, apparently I’m a stylish ppl)
— Because of award nomination I’m in big pic in big local newspaper today (spurred on by fact that I work for said paper) giant pics of myself scare me (prob because I have been known to giggle at unflattering pics of other people and I find big pics unflattering, poetic justice)
— My eyes hurt, yesterday I woke up with one red swollen eye (think hunch back, oooh not pretty) so this morning my eye looks better, but nw its both eyes slightly red, to match my nose I’m guessing (did I mention being sick sucks)
— today is going to be a hectic day (wednesdays always are) DEADLINE DEADLINE don’t you hate the sound it makes as it wooshes past (also a bunch of people at the office are off sick, many are on sick too – it’s a health violation I’m telling you, lol)
— hmmmm that’s all I have to declare for now oh and that I was momentarily jealous that Robs blog has same grading as mine but he only started last week, I’m over it now (pouted for a bit – but actually I like his blog) you can check out my “competition” at http://www.the-rookiehero.blogspot.com/

HAVE A GREAT HUMPDAY!

Me today

Three things about eleanor “elle/ella” douglas-meyers today:

1. I’m so excited I can hardly think, feel like the night before Christmas because I’m getting my car today, it’s a second hand uno and not my first car, but since rob and I down graded to 1 car because being married is super expensive, its really exciting that I’ll be handed keys to my own ride this afternoon – oooh it’s gonna be a long day.

2. I’m dissapointed in myself this morning. I was supposed to start my exercising before work thing again, but opted for the “just a few more minutes ma” option instead. In my defense waking up at 5.30 in winter is no easy task and I got little sleep with being excited and all, hehe

3. I have a self inflicted bad hair day which will carry on for about a week. I decided to go natural and curly again and when you put away the blow dryers and ghd’s and you have my type of hair, some retaliation is to be expected – wish me luck 🙂

— have a good week

My car 🙂 it has a baby on board sticker at the back which my mom says
I could just leave on. When I  asked why she said, cos I’m her baby. sure mom thats what you meant, hehe

Don’t worry be happy

Today I need a mass holding of thumbs, new job has me a tad frazzled, I don’t like being frazzled thank you very much.
In theory I know I can do the job, I’ve done it before so it should be a cake walk, but for some reason all I am is nervous. I’m in the same office which makes it slightly awkward (just moved desks so to speak) and pretty soon I get to meet my replacement.
Over here I get to work with Robyn (the friend not husband) and Mo tho so I’m starting to feel confident that there is nothing to worry about and that I’m just being my old worrying self again. My dad used to say, that worrying does’nt change the outcome of a situation it just makes the journey to the outcome more strenuous, so either do something constructive or learn to deal with it. actually he said, “if you worry you die if you don’t worry you still die so why worry”, but I think that’s what he meant 😉

HAVE A GOOD MONDAY ALL
