HERES WISHING YOU A FABULOUSLY FASHIONABLE FRIDAY
Happy Youth Day…
This question goes out to South Africans…What does Youth day mean to you?
Officially (according to the history books: Youth Day on 16 June in South Africa commemorates the start of the Soweto riots of 1976, initially sparked by a government edict that all instruction in black schools would be held in Afrikaans. The iconic picture of Hector Pieterson, a black schoolchild shot by the police, brought home to many people within and outside South Africa the brutalities of the Apartheid regime. )
But what does it mean to you as a person?
Apart from being a public holiday and the lucky ones being allowed to sleep all we want and attend commemorative events, the day is pretty significant, it shows that as the youth you don't have to wait for the future to make a difference. I'm not saying do anything dangerous or get yourself hurt but don't wait for things to happen to you fight for what you believe in like the old saying says: If you don't stand for something you will fall for anything.
Have a good day all
Live Love LAUGH
Funny thing is, I hate my laugh, it’s a rather annoying snorting thing that happens, very ugly Betty! But my point is laughing is free (with my current bank balance, free is good) its really healthy read here for more on health aspects and it just seriously cheers you up.
I come from a family of inappropriate joke makers like my mom telling us that she sees the value in contraceptives when we act out or my dad pushing over a display in the shop, making me think I did it and then laughing his head off.
My love of laughter means I fill my life with it as much as I can, I read witty books and watch stand-up comedy and sitcoms, I surround myself with funny people and I try to see the humour in everything.
I’m not saying I don’t take things seriously, sometimes things are just not funny, there is so much pain in the world that often tears seem like the only option.
Laughter does hold so much though it breaks barriers and makes friends so next time you feel down, smile a little, laugh a little. it pays to take yourself a little less seriously.
(I try to,but hey I’m still a work in progress)
Hein Says :
Tuesdays are Shoes days :Tracy’s Shoes :)
Number 2 – I got this studded ankle boot on sale. What a bargain! I am obsessed with shoes that make a statement.
Number 3 – My sexy black snake-skin gladiator heels! These babies make me feel hot no matter what, look great on my foot, and they are super comfortable to dance in!
Number 4 – Two-toned 1950’s inspired heels. I have an immediate connection with anything vintage-inspired. They do, however, kill my feet after a while… but pain is beauty!
Number 5 – My new friends. I needed a hot wedge to add to my collection and I simply adore peep-toes. They are cheeky in a good way. 😉
