Tuesdays are Shoes days: Plastic Dreams

These are my favs, a pair of gold Melissa pumps I got at  São Paulo Fashion Week last year (still cant believe I was invited *excited face*) I swear I spent the whole two weeks waiting for someone to point me out as an imposter. I mean as part as the international delegation I was having breakfast with the fashion editors of Vogue Argentina and Elle Canada, went shopping with top Dubai fashionistas, had drinks with fabulous freelancers, basically I hung out with those in the know, it was a true Ugly Betty experience and I would do again in a heart beat despite embarrassing myself a few times and not understanding what half the people were saying to me.

Me at The São Paulo Fashion Week 🙂

From before

So I got my phone up and running long enough to share these pictures 🙂 I found them in a box when I was “requested” to “get rid of my junk”.

This is me waiting to go to my matric dance, I had my hair cut that day and it was still sooo much, hehe.
I really miss being that skinny and having my hair that length, but funny enough I don’t miss being that girl. Way too scared of my shadow and people, I still kinda am, but hide it wayyyyy better 😉
This is my late gran, Annie Douglas, she was a real inspiration in the original “girl power” sense, single mom with a host of hobbies and always helping people. She also taught me about fashion (you can see by funky shoes) she believed if you look good, you feel good, and if you feel good you do good. She was always telling my cousins and I, “I want my girls to look smart”

This cutey is my husband around 6-years-old. He knows I put it up and although he is not the biggest fan of the idea, he mostly just lets me get on with things, hehe.

This is my dad,Allan, when he was a teenager. I’m told he was a real charmer and has always been “the leader of the pack” some of his friends still call him “Boss”.  Like my gran he always puts others first, weird to see him like this.

This is my dad these days (a year or so ago) with my mom,Angie, the two are still crazy inlove after all these years and my mom is one of the strongest/craziest/funniest people I know. She wears uggs with summer dresses and calls everyone girla because she can hardly ever remember their names.
My little sister,Anthea, when she was still little, she is now 17 and certainly does not look like this, hehe. We both used to model back then. Now she dresses like a boy and beats them at their own games. She annoys the living daylights out of me!!! but I love her to bits.

Black(berry) Monday

This cartoon from apunkaworld.com is a clear indication of the problem I face, lol

So this morning it occurs to me that I’m an addict, seriously I’m a blackberry addict and I need help!
Not help with overcoming my addiction, nope, I need help getting my stupid middle button to work.
Ok it did not really only occur to me this morning, it happened somewhere between googling a recipe for supper while tweeting and updating my facebook status, Rob recons my phone has been booked off for stress. (He’s one to talk, he told me this through bbm while downloading music and reading articles online)

Seriously there are all these pictures I want to share, but because my blackberry won’t let me scroll to my pictures, I cant share them and I’m getting all anxsty because when I get a email, tweet, anything really I cant see what it is 🙁

I’ll try again later though because I’m not a quitter, unless its some sort of  exercise thing. then I gladly quit.
Anyway I have every intention of fixing my phone and sharing the pics, wish me luck!

But while I try some cellular vodoo I thought I’d cheer myself up because I don’t do blue Mondays, in fact I’d rather be depro every other day except Monday so I don’t fall prey to the hype 😉
here are three sites I love, great for turning a frown upside down.

What I wore

It’s not the most flattering photo, but I warned you, I'm not photogenic at all, also I'm busy unpacking so that's my excuse, hehe

Wearing
– denim shorts (Love lounging in shorts 🙂
– striped stockings (no clue from where or I'd buy more)
– elle t-shirt (from the elle mag :))
-patent leather brogues (cos they cute, from legit)

Blast from the past

So I went to say hey to my parents and got roped into clearing out some boxes I had left in my old room, here are some of my finds. I AM SUCH A HOARDER!

1 – a crate full of fashion mags, I have loads more.
2 – a whole collection of notebooks I used since starting journalism, can't even remember most of the stories.
3 – hot water curlers which I never quite got the hang of mostly because my hair is 80% quantity 20% quality.
4 – a book I received with my first computer, I remember it was a single unit with a green screen.
5 – couldn't begin to guess what is on this.
6 – a nude bra, I stopped wearing this when I was interviewing one of the heads of MAC (how cool is that) and bra fell off into my top (how uncool is that)
7 – primary school diary that proves I have always been a drama queen and I could never spell, lol
