Week 27 baby in 4D

Firstly my phone and car have both basically told me where to get off-oh joyous start to the new week!!!!

But moving on….

It’s week 27 and I’m still growing by the day, seriously I had some one say to me this morning “You must be counting down the days already” Not with about 97 days to go, Im not. (had to do a google calculation for that)

On the plus side its xactly 10 more weeks of work before I’m on maternity leave (if everything goes well that is).
Even greater than this is the fact that today Im doing the 4d scan so we get to have a glimps of the little one YEAH US!!!

Babyzone.com says:
fetal development at 27 weeks illustration
Your baby’s lungs and brain are beginning to mature. Although he’d have a good chance of survival if he were born now, he could use a few more weeks of growing. Added layers of fat are continuing to form. These layers will help your baby regulate his temperature once outside the womb and help keep him warm

So it’s week 26

25 Week tummy

I’m basically two months away from maternity leave. Seriously how did that happen? One moment I was peeing on a stick, and momentarily confused at what one and a half lines meant (I then got more of those little science experiments out to make sense of the “you are pregnant” the first test was clearly hinting at – 5 tests of varying makes and strengths couldn’t be wrong, we were having a baby! )
I remember Robin’s excitement and me not really being sure which emotion to display. My emotions were like a volatile cocktail, One part excitement, one part confusion, one part annoyance at husband (well he was far to calm for my liking and with no prospect of growing a baby in him and having to do the birthing thing, I could see why) then one part flabbergasted dashed with loads of WOW this is actually happening.
Its 20 week’s since then: I’ve seen and heard a heart beat, found out I was carrying a boy, I’ve freaked out about my size and the irony of water retention (how can I be retaining water and looking sooo swollen and at the same time running to the bathroom every second) I’ve felt the annoyance that is late onset morning sickness, felt smug about the lack of stretch marks and then depro about the cellulite that took it’s place. I’ve felt time draaaagggg as I can’t wait to meet my little man and felt time speed off as I feared the whole motherhood thing.
But all in all it’s been an interesting ride and there are 3 more months to go….
Here goes nothing

26 Weeks Pregnant: Managing Stress While You're Expecting

Pregnancy Week 26: All About Baby (babyzone.com)

During your 26th week of pregnancy, your baby-to-be opens her eyes for the first time. She’ll open and shut her eyes as she gets used to her new ability. Your little one is still on the small side. Her body may look fully formed on the outside, but inside there’s fine-tuning taking place, including her lungs and her brain. Your unborn baby still has some growing to do!

Is it just me or is time flying – week 25

I bought my first real baby thing, yeah me! a Nap-Sac by Lily Gold this is basically a baby bag that can be transformed int a changing station or a little temporary bed for little one: I love multi-functionality, I really do:
(mine is black because red was a little too diva for a little boy)

Also, my friend, Durelle, brought me a baby calendar this morning and I was practically shocked off my chair at the size and abilities of  baby at the moment, think baby found my shock funny because he has been kicking up a storm ever since: This is what babyzone has to say:

Pregnancy Week 25: All About Baby

Your baby-to-be’s lungs are developing rapidly, although she’d probably need a little help breathing if she were born at this point. Her respiratory system continues to develop, her nostrils are open, and she can breathe—but she won’t take her first breath of air until delivery day. By your 25th week of pregnancy, her reproductive organs are formed (in boys, the testes have descended). Her skin is translucent and wrinkled, and she can hear your stomach when it gurgles and your voice when you sing. Your baby is becoming more aware of how she can move—she’s wiggling her fingers and toes!

25 Weeks Pregnant: Pampering Yourself

Is it just me or is pregnancy like 9months of PMS?

Me&baby at 23 weeks

It’s week 24 and I still haven’t managed to find my “happy place” it’s been tough going without the husband here and feeling a bit like a burden on my family and friends. It really sucks! I hope I feel better soon though, this whole emo thing is soooo 2 years ago.

But on the baby front everything seems to be going very well (nausea and pain are apparently good things) so yes ALL GOOD, hehe.
This is apparently what I should expect this coming week (according to babyzone.com)

24 Weeks Pregnant: Keeping Your Body Healthy
PS. My tummy is wayyyyy bigger than this illustration

Pregnancy Week 24: All About Baby
In your 24th week of pregnancy, your baby is filling out. Part of your weight gain goes straight to helping him gain weight, too. Since he’s still on the scrawny side, his skin wrinkles on his body, but he looks like a miniature version of what you’ll see on delivery day. His face has formed, ears are in place, and eyes are complete (although his lids are still closed). He has eyelashes, fingernails, and may be growing hair. Rapid eye movements (REM) are beginning, too.

Maternity outfit post-Mellow yellow

So the other day a friend commented on the fact that my dressing style has not been up to  “my usual standard” recently. In other words I’m looking like a frumpy mess these days. Not fun to hear but it made me realise that I really needed to up my game, despite feeling and looking like I have been over inflated (I’m starting to waddle already)  – besides at 23 weeks Im only getting bigger from here. I have already picked up 10kgs people!!! and at 5.1 ft IT SHOWS, haha

Anywho the point was, Rob visited for the weekend and I dragged him along for a 3 hour ordeal (I say ordeal because buying clothes is not as much fun when you are restricted to mu mu’s and tights) and I ended up coming home with like 4 items (well it’s a start) and it’s made me confident (delusional maybe) enough to do outfit posts again, here is this week’s outfit:

Worn on Sunday

Wearing:
Black tunic (Edgars’ due date range)
Mustard tights (Mr Price)
Black lace-up pumps (Mr Price)
Sunglasses (YDE)
Necklace (Fashion week free bee)

It’s week 23 and baby’s (me) got back and front and all around

Ignore the need for a manicure

OMW!!!! When did I get this big, seriously Im currently walking into things and I’m convinced it is because half the body parts were not that size last time I checked also It has come to my attention that I’m mad as a hatter, I have always been an emotional sort but I swear I’m mentally loosing it, it doesn’t help that I’m suddenly humongous, I went maternity wear shopping and it was an ordeal!!!! worse than buying a bikini and you are PMSing!!!! but I got a few things and will be putting up some maternity outfit posts in the near future…

BABY ZONE SAYS:

Pregnancy Week 23: All About Baby

Twenty-three weeks marks an important point for your unborn baby. Your baby-to-be is far enough along in his development that he could have a chance at survival outside the womb.
According to the March of Dimes, of all babies born at 23 weeks, 25 to 35 percent survive. This number goes up considerably when you add just a couple weeks: roughly 50 to 70 percent of all babies born at 24 to 25 weeks survive. And 90 percent of all babies born at 26 to 27 weeks survive.

Although all of your baby-to-be’s internal systems are in place, he needs more time for those intricate systems to mature.
