The 18th week

So this is my 18th week of being pregnant, and late last week already I’ve felt some rather suprising movements in my tummy area, wow amazingly weird and cool at the same time 🙂
Another cool fact is that they think it’s a BOY! never saw myself as a boy’s mom if that makes sense, I saw tea parties and dress up instead of playing with cars and kicking balls, but very excited for the challenge.

Here is what babyzone says I can expect in the coming week…
Pregnancy Week 18: All About Baby
At week 18, your baby-to-be’s senses are maturing. She’s able to hear sounds within her own comfortable environment, such as the sound of your heart beating, as well as external sounds, such as your voice. She may become more active for certain sounds, and you’ll feel her movements. At this point in her development she’s still small enough that she has plenty of room to wiggle.

truth about THE belly

Almost four months into this pregnancy thing, I have a couple of points to make, share things I had no idea were involved in the procreation process…
Firstly I’m extremely happy to be bringing a little one into the world in just over five months!!!!!! seriously can’t wait to meet Logan/Gabriella (depending on gender and whether or not I go into my “I’m not feeling that name anymore” moods) but I’ve decided to come clean with things that bother me about this whole being pregnant thing…
1. Apparently the whole, your hair will grow lovely and thick when you are pregnant, does not only extend to your head… I am not a fan, I used to have to shave my legs every two months, haha, do that now and I can make a sweater
2. I’m not too big on the whole skin of a teenager thing, I never had a problem with my skin EVER even during the awkward teenager stage (figured it was my reward for having every other awkward teenage affliction, no boobs, not sporty and not exactly voted most popular), but now I’m oily and pimply-BLEUGH!
3. Swollen feet and swollen fingers are ANNOYING and painful 🙁 and I only expected it waaaay later- apparently , everyone is different, oh-yeah me
4. I’m a whale! not even 4 months yet and I’m a oompa loompa in most of my clothes-seriously caught my reflectionS in a fitting room mirror the other day and almost got arrested for shattering the mirrors, I always dreamed that when I got pregnant I’d stay my usual size with just a lil tummy HAHAHAHAHAHAHA NO! my everything is bloated and fatter, especially my arms! pretty sure
5. I’m always hungry! until I eat a little then I feel ridiculously full or need to barf 🙁 but even so I manage to have picked up tons of weight, double 🙁
6. I have now noticed cellulite creeping down to my knees, I used to be able to wear mini’s and shorts like no body’s business , but that seems to be a thing of the past, extensive googling says it should subside with birth PLEASE OH PLEASE BE TRUE
7. Im an emotional wreck, seriously EVERYTHING makes me cry, or more likely scream….
This being said I would not trade any of this for the world (OK i could trade it) but would not give up being pregnant for the world! Im extremely ridiculously out of my skin happy with the idea that I will soon have my very own bundle of joy and hey as all my mommy friends say, bad skin, bloating and all the other annoying things are temporary while the love of a child is forever 🙂 (well prob not when they are 16 but other times, yes)

This is the 16th week. WOW

16 Weeks Pregnant: Traveling While Pregnant
All about baba this week:  By week 16, your baby-to-be’s body is doing more to support itself. Her kidneys function and produce urine that then passes through the umbilical cord. Within her stomach, bile is secreted, although she relies on you for all of her nutrients. Her appearance changes as her scalp hair grows and may even have color. Her developing facial muscles make it possible for her to open and close her mouth, maybe even give you a smile or two.

This week and the baby (15th)

We are going into week 15 now and this is what babyzone has to say, how weird!!!

15 Weeks Pregnant: Clumsy and Forgetful?

Pregnancy Week 15: All About Baby

At week 15, your baby-to-be stretches her limbs and bends at her elbows. She’s getting big enough that you can feel many of these movements.
This week your baby is roughly the size of a small apple or orange. Her bones are continuing to grow and lengthen. While she looks more like a baby, her skin is still thin and translucent with her veins visible.
Your baby is also beginning to grow lanugo, a very fine hair. It will keep growing until around the 26th gestational week of pregnancy (that’s week 28 of your pregnancy).

This week and the baby: Week 14

According to my last scan week fourteen didnt start yesterday, it only starts tomorrow, but since I’ve decided to make Monday’s about the baby, it’s only right I continue and share what babyzone.com has to say about the baby and the coming week 🙂

14 Weeks Pregnant: Are You Showing?

Pregnancy Week 14: All About Baby

At 14 weeks your baby is a regular wiggler, but because of his small size you probably won’t feel it yet. Your baby-to-be’s face is becoming more distinguishable as his eyes move closer together and his ears move closer to their final positions. He’s also growing soft baby hair all over his body, which is thought to help anchor developing skin, as well as forming hair on his eyebrows and scalp. He may hiccup too, even though his lungs are filled with fluid, not air.

Pics from last scan (the worm like thing is my future baby)

This week with the baba (13th)

It’s the first day of week 13 can’t believe time is moving so fast, here is what babyzone.com says about this week:

13 Weeks Pregnant: A Week to Celebrate!
Week 13 marks a milestone for your baby-to-be. Developmentally speaking she’s no longer an embryo, but a fetus. She’s looking—and acting—more and more like a baby every day. She appears to be resting because her eyelids have formed and are fused together, but her arms and legs move and twitch (although you probably can’t feel it … yet). She can suck her thumb, too.

I’m feeling extremely blessed, even though I’m moody and bloated and kinda “bleughy”  This baby and I are both  surrounded by so much love, from friends, family colleges it’s been quite overwhelming.

I’m only just entering the second trimester and gifts have even started coming in, we received this stunning pregnancy journal from Sal this weekend (Thanks so much!!!)

And a few weeks ago we receive this really cool baby journal from Rob’s captain – It’s to take down all the big milestones and it is really stunning, such a pity I didn’t take a pic of it.

I have also received tons of baby mags and some great advice, thank you to everyone who has made me feel so loved (let me go before I cry – I can do that fairly quickly these days)
