Last day of 2010 Summer SAFW

So its time to go back home, with the hope they invite me again for winter show, hehe.
Had a blast in between bouts of exhaustion and some self-doubt,but all in all it did not disappoint and I loved tweeting from front row, was even more fun having people interact with me (you knw who you are)
For today's pics I included:
1. A pic I loved from the Joel Janse Van Vuuren collection
2&3. Final outfit black and tan (think that's the name of beer-heard on food network)
4. New comers and PE homegirls Hoiden launched tonight. Contact them on http://www.hoiden.co.za
5. Latest offering of other PE design team, award winning. Contact them on http://www.silverspoonclothing.co.za/

So from tomorrow things should be back to normal around here 🙂
Have a great week

SAFW: day2

Today went by in an exhausting blur, should prob get my iron checked out again because I refuse to believe I'm just this boring *yawn*. Had a blast though, getting to sit front row with the who's who in SA fashion is great and so is getting to see latest in SA trends first hand, I've been updating through twitter on @justellabella

Here is my day in pictures:

1. Champers as a welcoming drink is always welcome
2&3. This is what I wore, simple black shorts and top combo (having a fat day, not ideal at fashion week) ignore bottles of wine, lol, both still closed
4. Redbull energy shot to help me act less like an old lady, falling asleep when I really don't wanna miss a thing
5.These signs on stairs are supposed to act as motivation to trek upstairs as there are no lifts just a bunch of people in skyscraper heels trying not to break their necks, hehe
6. No such motivation is given for walk between lounge and auditorium and quite a few people had to take some liquid courage before they attempted it
7.Ended day off with milkshakes from the hotel's milkshake bar 🙂 I got a lindt one because that is what you do when it's on the menu (these are half ones because the full ones were a little too daunting)
-have a good Sunday all

SAFW day 1

Day 1 done and dusted (already on my way to first of day 2’s shows) and I was even too tired for after party, yes I know I'm a big giant nerd who also happens not to know where the remote for tv in room is located, flip man.
Anyway has been fun thus far, and you can follow all the fashion on twitter @justellabella
For behind the fashion here is a few pics to show what I wore and what my room at Protea fire and ice hotel looks like- I LOVE LOVE the glam effect in room decor and my own look for safw was supposed to be understated and funky, but my bra popped out at least three times, STUPID DRESS (still love u) and I don't believe that's very understated of me…. Pics: starting with view of
Lounge where fashionistas hang out between shows.

Have a great Saturday all…

Fashion Friday

In honour of my SAFW trip here are a few of my favourite fashion quotes:

Fashions fade, style is eternal.
-Yves Saint Laurent

Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only. Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening.
-Coco Chanel

Zest is the secret of all beauty. There is no beauty that is attractive without zest.
-Christian Dior

Elegance is a question of personality, more than one's clothing.
-Jean-Paul Gaultier

Only great minds can afford a simple style.
-Stendal

A woman's dress should be like a barbedwire fence: serving its purpose without obstructing the view.
-Sophia Loren

fashion is merely a form of ugliness so unbearable that we are compelled to alter it every six months.
-Oscar Wilde

Art produces ugly things which frequently become beautiful with time. Fashion, on the other hand, produces beautiful things which always become ugly with time.
-Jean Cocteau

Above all, remember that the most important thing you can take anywhere is not a Gucci bag or French-cut jeans; it's an open mind.
-Gail Rubin Bereny

SA Fashion week time again :)

It’s fashion week time again and I’m super excited, funny how I’ve done this a couple of times before, but never get tired of the whole whoopdie doo! love the drama on the catwalk and although I’d prob never have the guts or rediculously long legs to pull off most of those outfits it’s such a great thing to see how designers interperate a season or theme. I’m off tomorrow and I get to hook up with my fashion week buds and think of nothing but style and trends for a bit (I still don’t know what I’m going to wear myself, darnit – and front row you know people are looking at what you wear) I’ve included the schedule for those interested and will upload pics of what I finally decide to wear. Also cant wait to see what local guys (from Port Elizabeth) Silverspoon and Hoiden have come up with:  oh and here are some pics of us goofing off at last SAFW.

Tuesdays are Shoes days: Suede pumps

Today's shoes are really some of my favs, they suede with a killer heel and you attach these leg warmer type things and they become boots, will show those off next time (I'm on a work trip so don't have them with me) anyway got them at Edgars and love them even though they not quite the suede Christian Louboutin pumps below
