Weekend in pictures…PLAYDATE FUN!!!

Our Moms Group met up this weekend 🙂 we had a blast and what made it extra special is that we also celebrated a new baby joining our group with a baby shower!!!!
Our host upped the fun by bringing in the super talented  Liezel Jacobs from Music&Me to interact with us which was quite a hit….She does sing-along, dance-along, crafts and story time with the kids – which is a great addition to any party – we even got to create a keepsake to take home

We all had a blast and even though the kids still have pretty short attention spans (walking off in the middle of dance routine leaving us to “head, tummy, knees and toes” all by ourselves) they thoroughly enjoyed it…
Aidan especially enjoyed the crafting (which the rest of the moms tease us about because apparently we are soooo used to these things)

Here is our day in pics:

LYNDALL’S SHOWER!

My beautiful and funny yet so sarcastic you don’t know if you want to hit her or hug her, friend Lyndall

Our layout – we so fancy if you give us time

it’s a boy in case you didn’t guess
our host is a baker too, who knew

100% sugar cocktails, hehehe – candyfloss in a cup FTW

PLAY TIME:

These two have a love/hate relationship, always so excited to see each other then they don’t interact, hehe

Yongama always ready for a photo

always, hehe (Maison, chilling like a boss)

Jude and Riley, “cooking” up a storm

CRAFT TIME:

Please note miss photogenic, Gia (soon to be big sis) in the pool

happier times before Yongama decided painting was not for him

Gia, poser like her momma… Twins in the background waiting for their turn

Aidy and me, apparently we are sooooooo used to these things

Aidan got the finger painting memo wrong – you are not supposed to paint your fingers, or toes for that matter

finished crafts
After this picture I realised Aidan was trying to open glitter to “tase”
this kid is gonna poop an ornament one day, I swear
If you want to contact Liezel yourself you can do so through her fb page  Music&Me  or even Email Her

My turn to host

We had another mother’s day meet-up this past weekend and it was my turn to play host. I was  pressed for time so ordered salads from my favourite coffee shop and cupcakes from the lady who is making Aidan’s birthday cake, I also made some fruit skewers and some faux fruit skewers( fruit shaped sweets).

Aidan ended up sleeping through most of the party, shame getting 5 teeth at the same time will do that to you…
Despite an ant invasion and grass that had lost it’s greenness we had a blast, we always enjoy each others company and having the kids interact with each other…I can see that the kids are becoming more and more difficult to handle now that they are more mobile, but ooooh soooo cute!

7 months and counting

Aidan and his bday buddy Lilitha are 7 months today, how time flies!

Wow can’t believe how big he is now
APPEARANCE:  The jury is still out regarding who he looks like , but I think he is just the cutest thing, all cheeks and eyes

PERSONALITY: Aidan is soooooo busy and he is getting “naughty”, tests the waters by crying for stuff but in general he is such a pleasure. He responds to music now too, and drums along to any tune playing or even when you sing (this includes lullabies, unfortunately)and he dances and sings too, very cute!

ROUTINE:  He sleeps less plays wayyyyy more and is such a danger to himself, thinks he can stand so will pull himself up against things, but since he isn’t strong enough yet you have to watch him like a hawk- he is also learning to crawl, give him a week or so and you wont be able to stop him!

LOVES: rolling around and banging everything , my lil musical prodigy 😉 – feel like he needs a drum for Christmas , but I in fact don’t need him to have one, hehehe

DISLIKES: Sleep! Still doesn’t want to sleep, ever! Also doesn’t like having to wear clothes

MOM:  Feels super guilty for him falling off the bed yesterday. Shame man, he seems great though, very resilient, I’m the one still in shock.

Picture my weekend

Soooo this weekend was quite sociable,  here are some of the things we got up too:

Amazingly Aidan is tiny in Robs arms and giant in mine – This doesn’t represent something we did , just showing off my little family

Rob’s cousin who was my friend first, well not before they were cousins as they are both older than I am, but I knew her as a friend before I knew her as a “cousin-in-law” (she introduced Rob and I ,actually) well she, Luchae, is getting married, and we had a kitchen tea for her the weekend 🙂 Music themed, as most everything about her is music themed, lol – Congrads and good luck lady
We had our second Mommy Group playdate this past weekend, MUCH FUN! I wore shorts, i know shock horrow, hehehe

Poof there went my holiday…

The moms and babas, from left: Busi and Lilitha (Lilli and Aidan share a birthday),Me and Aidan, Carmen and Jayce, Lyndall and Gia, Leigh and Jude, Bonnie and Ethan, Tarryn and twins Jesse and Joel…Host of the event, Robyn, infront with her twins Blake and Riley – Members, Vuyo(baby Yongama), Adele (baby Gabriel) and Danielle (baby Maison) could’nt make it 🙁
See my cute pictures J It’s from the first annual Mommy Group get together-The Mommy Group has been such a great  help, right from the start when Aidan struggled to latch and I was up all hours of the night (hahaha as if I’m not up all hours now) until now when even I have the occasional bit of advice to share. The group  was the social media brainchild of Carmen (see group picture) and has certainly grown from strength to strength…We have been really lucky to all click and the chats, albeit for support and advice, can really leave you LAUGHING OUT LOUD!!!   THANX GUYS YOU ARE JUST THE BEST
That being said life is back to normal today, back at work, back at gym and back to eating healthy – I was actually pretty good the week though, after I gained weight instead of lost at last weigh in and other people got badges for loosing 5kgs, I got sad because I like to win  (I’d actually love to lose in this instance) so I’ve tried to be better . . . Any who turns out I could never be a stay at home mom, would rather opt for half days because  Aidan is anti-sleep activist who runs on batteries that need 5min recharge, sheesh! Never thought I’d say this but work seems less stressful than watching a baby, hehehe. It was great though, we went for walks, played in the park and just hung out, sad how much you miss when you don’t get to be with them all day every day…But hey gotta work and buy those nappies, hehe
Wishing all of you the best week ahead J
