10 things I’m thankful for

In a quest to take back my smile (slowly but surely) Every week I’m choosing ten things to be thankful for… Starting now, What am I thankful for this week is,
– Religion cos it helps me be thankful our baby is safe in the arms of angels instead of suffering on earth (bleeding on the brain could have caused many problems)

– clothes 🙂
– That 70s show
– come dine with me
– finding out that I’m MUCH stronger than I thort

IN THE CASE OF MAKE-UP

I like a touch of:

Bronzer – for the sun kissed look

Cant use:
Red lipstick – I look like some1 beat up Angelina Jolie

IF I EVER GET TO BE ON TV

 I would love to:

Would hate to
Be constipation girl – AWKWARD
Be condom girl – AWKWARDER
Read news – In South Africa there are just too many languages to butcher

I need to . . .

Based on my weekend, I have set up a list of things I need to start doing…
1. Stop taking out everything I own to find something to wear then shove everything back into cupboards – it’s not a good look.
2. Find some type of hold all jewellery holder, fishing between 5 jewellery boxes is quite the shlep and means accesorising has become a whatever matches each other type of game
3. Spend more time with my nieces they seriously put things into perspective (did you knw milk comes from under a cow? Hehe my 2 year old niece informed me this weekend)
4. Finish or at least continue one of the many tasks I’ve started… (Anything eleanor the knitting thing or the baking thing, or the doll making or the…)
 5. Surround myself with people who make me laugh, life is too serious to be serious
6. Never buy halls summer mint again it tastes like fruit flavoured  …insert something gross here….
7. Take more naps, naps rock!
8. Be thankful I married the kind of guy who understands my need to be slightly mentally unstable twice a week
9.Loose weight (without starving myself) short people don’t carry excess weight well and I don’t want to be a ball
10. Get motivated to exercise again!!! I’m sooooo lazy

Random things that make me smile

I’m feeling rather under the weather so decided to look on the bright side of life and list ten extremely simple things that make me smile…

I love this scarf, I wear it with everything…even have it on today

1.  Floss (I think flossing rocks, that might make me seem weird, but I hate having something stuck in my teeth so I love flossing.)
2. My diffuser (because now I can have curls without having to walk around with wet hair for half the day)
3. The fact that my curls are coming back, it’s not completely back, but it’s looking way less wet chicken like (LOVE THAT!)
4. Messages from friends I have not spoken to in ages.
5. Burfi – my most fav treat (Barfi, sometimes burfi or burfee is a sweet confection from the Indian subcontinent.)
6. Friends who make me laugh, I have some FUNNY  FRIENDS, ppl (some funny-haha, some funny-strange)
7. A work day that ends up being wayyy more relaxing than planned
8. Rob and I both playing games on our laptops while snuggling on the fold out couch (do that for an hour most nights, just to unwind)
9. Nail polish, I have tons of the stuff and love how it changes a look instantly
10. Blogging, I never thought I’d enjoy it this much, but the feed back and emails from followers and readers is just too cool to ignore, it is also great to log on and see how many people have visited, it makes me feel part of something bigger… THANKS GUYS 🙂

10 thinks I’ve learned since being “grown up”

– Money does in fact not grow on trees.
– Think carefully before you type a request into google, if you looking for a picture of a little girl perhaps, don’t type cute little girls, DON’T.
– Clothes do not magically clean itself. And on washing days you suddenly have way more clothes there than you remember wearing.
– Food does not magically cook itself. But a husband who loves cooking helps this situation.
– Many adult women still do the mean girl thing, years after high school ended. Its lame! no1 cares how fancy you are or what you have, it’s who you are that counts, don’t you watch Oprah? hehe
– My mother was right about the maximum doses of junk food and minimum doses of exercise thing catching up to me some day. Why it hasn’t caught up with her no1 knows.
– A job in the media industry means you never really stop having “home work”.
– There is such a thing as a quarter life crisis. I’ve had three
– Cartoons are still funny and shows with adults dressed as animals are still lame.
– I’m still me, just a less style challenged, less selfconscious(not unselfconscious),version of me and I like me 🙂

In my oh so humble opinion

what to wear

I’m feeling much better today (physically not so hot, but otherwise I’m really good). It might have something to do with a good friend threatening to assault me with a positivity stick if I don’t stop acting like Eeyore  from Winnie the Pooh, guess sometimes you need tough love. lol

But that’s not the point here, I actually intend to share my fashionable (up to you to decide) opinion with you. I’m by no means an expert when it comes to style and my outfit for the day is usually decided by sticking my hand into my cupboard pulling something out and working around it. But when it comes to fashion/trend/style I have a few pet peeves that I’d like to share, I’ll only do five now so I don’t seem like too much of a colossal biatch 😉

1. I hate when people wear tights as pants, OK I’ve done it myself, but I insure that (a). My butt is covered by my top (b) you cant see right through my tights (c) My booty doesn’t need xxxl tights.
I know it sounds harsh, but if tights need to hold on for dear life you prob wanna give them some help, with  a skirt or something…Just saying.

2. I cant stand guys with popped collars. I don’t have a definitive reason for this, it just earks me, its douchey like wearing sunglasses inside or on your head when you not holding your hair back, if your bald and sunglasses are on your head I think you look alien like. (that’s tech two points I guess)

3. Cant stand people wearing slippers to work or class. I get the comfortable thing but seriously a pair of flats could give you that without making you look like a resident at a hospice. . . just saying

4. Socks with sandals are a no no. I’m not talking high heels and opaque stockings or pretty peep toes, I’m talking flat sandals with socks a strict no no if you are not at an old age home and even there its slightly frowned upon.

5. Matching denim pants and jackets are so not my thing. I’m not saying you cant pair denim with denim, by all means! its a cool look. But in my opinion if you wear light washed jeans and a jacket in same wash and style you look like a farmer or mechanic, it’s just not a good look…. unless of course you are a farmer or a mechanic then more power to you

*This is just my opinion, you can agree or disagree, but since this is my blog, I can kinda say what I want, hehe*
