You know I shoot people, right

Since I’ve revived my photo business a little I thought I’d share a couple of my favourite shots, the rest can be found at MY BUTTERFLY LENS…. For those who did not know about this blog way back when when I launched , I started my butterfly lens after my son died, I take pictures of kids because I feel that even without death the life span of a “kid” is so short one minute they are building sandcastles and the next they are on the phone with their friends and want nothing to do with you, hehe I just think it’s important to note these changes through photography…

Picture This

I’ve dusted off my camera recently and did a few shoots…
My sister in a “street style” shoot
Her good friend Theofista in a “pin-up” shoot
and I took pictures at our friends,Hein and Cleon’s, daughter’s birthday party

My blog is having issues with pictures so can post it seperately just
yet…but here is a preview:

First Birthday shoot

So I finally took the plunge and went from doing one-on-one kiddies photo shoots to birthdays.
My first Birthday party shoot took place this weekend when little Luke turned one 🙂  How poetic , a first for both of us 🙂
Like most 1 year olds he quickly grew tired of all the people “celebrating him” so I had my work cut out trying to coax a smile out of him
Here is an example of how it all turned out:

Going for my dream…

Ok so I decided that I need to make the first step towards my children’s photography dreams and I did, by scheduling my first photo shoot and getting a logo done (by my super talented friend Justin Main) here is my logo and my first shoot (excluding practise runs with relatives):

The name, My Butterfly lens is in honour of Logan, My Butterfly 🙂

This is a night shoot I did with 3-year-old Skeigh, we are doing daytime photos this coming weekend, but I just had to share the first pics, she is too cute for words :
