happy birthday me

  • Readers of my blog know that I’m not big on parties and such for my birthday and that the last two years have been very uncelebrateworthy (yes I made that word up) but this year, the last one in my 20s I thought maybe I should do supper or something or something. My friend Sal over at The Silly Little Blog  had spoken and tweeted about this great little place in Richmond Hill where you can watch movies under the stars ALLEY CAT  …
  • So a few friends joined me in celebration by watching  the hilarious Bridesmaids –even though the setting lends itself more to like Casablanca and such-I made a few party packs and we had a blast, thank you to everyone who made this birthday a reason to smile ….  Alley Cat is AWESOME by the way and so is the owner Yvonne who could not be more sweet and accommodating if she tried, we had a blast and next time (yes there will be a next time) I will be having home made ice-cream J
(My pictures still giving me problems but if you click on it, you will get the unblurry version)

My weekend in pics

Aidan had such a blast at Blake and Riley’s party the colours and toys had him hyper!
The kid was chatting away and so excited I was tempted to buy him a swing…but really now
Great party Robyn and Ryan 🙂 *Pictures by my cousin Desthea who does kiddies party shoots with me

The “color run” taught me a few things like, don’t wear new takkies for a 5k, white is not your friend while trying to lose baby weight, contact lenses can randomly fall out of your eyes (like in the movies) and runs like this are a blast
THANKS POWDER RANGERS IT WAS SO MUCH FUN 🙂

Here is some of the fun over the weekend (pics from my dads party still to come)

Fun on the horizon

So instead of looking back at my weekend [spent in bed because I’m sick] I’m looking forward to a great weekend of events still coming  up, seriously going to be a doozie…time to get my time management skills back on track

Friday it’s my dad’s 50th we going for a 50s diner theme ….very exciting! But also nerve wrecking as there is still so much to do
Saturday morning we will be celebrating Riley and Blake’s 1st birthday J party time for the little ones
Saturday  afternoon it’s my friend Jenine’s birthday, it’s a carnival theme…whoop whoop [jenine is the one on my left in the pic]
Sunday it’s the color run, yeah color run!!!! Can’t wait
Then it’s Sunday lunch, a braai hosted by my friend Durelle
Is it possible to be tired already?

Getting ready for my dads birthday

My weekend in pics: celebration stations

So one of my best friends celebrated a birthday this weekend…It was her first as a mom, of two nogal (she had twins, Blake and Riley, the end of last year) so she celebrated in style with a high tea themed party organized by her big sis, Cindy (the friend who gave me my much cherished “too beautiful for earth” necklace) and good friend Jenine – they went all out with everything from food to flowers J
Happy birthday Robyn…

Our God-daughter Zoey (daughter of life long friend, Revinia) also celebrated a birthday this weekend, she turned two and made me feel pretty old as my mind is convinced she was born just yesterday. . .

My friend Yolande’s son Samuel also celebrated this weekend…he had his dedication, my ridiculously swollen feet and legs stopped me from celebrating with the blue-eyed beauty yesterday, but I was definitely there in spirit as this adorable boy will always have a special place in my heart

Happy Halloween :)

So this weekend a bunch of friends and I tried out Clues,Spells, and Curses Printable Halloween Scavenger Hunt! from http://www.queen-of-theme-party-games.com/scavenger-hunt-clues.html
In the spirit of Halloween we all got dressed up, got together and ended up having more fun than expected… We were divided into groups and had to work together to “Break a Spell”.  Our hosts hid envelopes with clues, spells and curses and also cool little containers with ingredients for the spells.
During the game we were required to open the envelopes to get clues, but if you were unlucky you would get cursed NOT COOL! At one stage two of my three team mates  were cursed at the same time, the one couldn’t stop singing and the other couldn’t stop talking utter nonsense (prizes were awarded for best actor, best costumes and so on so they went all out with acting out the curses). I wanted to cry from sheer annoyance!
You needed to barter, buy and even cheat to get to the top.  Such a fun game!!!  A def must try if you are in the mood for something different.
THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO MADE IT A BLAST!!!

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
