I was never all that into Dr Seuss, I know I know, shame on me, I knew who “the esteemed Dr” was – how could I not, I spent my formative years with my head constantly in one book or another, seriously the librarian knew me by name.
But I could not “get into” the whole Dr Seuss thing, too rhymey for my liking I guess,I think as a young’en I was too “intellectual” for my own good and Dr Seuss was too childlike for my “refined” taste.
But here is the weird thing I’m obsessed with Dr Seuss at the moment, the symbolism and meaning speaks straight to my 27-year-old heart and I am desperate for a full collection to read to my future kiddies 🙂
