Why not repurpose

I don’t like throwing things away, some say thrifty, some say hoarder I say environmentally conscious. I honestly like to get the full use out of things and thought I’d share some tips, here are five tips for repurposing šŸ™‚

Those plastic spoons you get with ice-cream or frozen yogurt

I keep these and put them in Aidan’s lunch to school or when he is running errands with me, it’s ideal for spreads so he can “do it self”Ā He loves spreading cheese spread/cream cheeseĀ (those blocks) on provita (or any crackers really) and this way I don’t have to worry about him hurting himself with a knife.

Small plastic containersĀ that have lost their lids

I use them inside bigger lunch tins for a bento effect, that’s not one of mine (my child doesn’t eat enough YET)Ā that is from THIS SITE , which has some great bento ideas, but you get the gist, itĀ keeps the sweet from touching the savoury and so on and so forth…you are welcome šŸ™‚

Left over coconut pulp

If your response is, who on earth has left over coconut pulp, you probably have not heard of this Make your own coconut milk recipe from blogger Odette over at Osoinspired. It is just the best thing!!! especially for those of us who go through the bloaties from cow’s milk (the word bloatiesĀ makes it seem less embarrassing and painful)Ā you make your own coconut milk for literally a fraction of the cost (who likes to save? THIS GIRL)Ā but then you are stuck with the pulp… A few google searches led me to these two awesome uses, why not make toasted coconut or even coconut flour šŸ™‚

Expired legumes, pasta and rice

Apologies for picture colour, I have a new phone which I frankly HATE

Teaching Mickey Mouse how to make crafts

I know I’m not the only one who will come across a container of like lentils or macaroni and be like, hmmmm I don’t think I should feed this to my family seeing as it’s not 2011 anymore (oh just me?) any who if you ever find yourself in this predicament why not pull out some white craft glue and let your toddler go wild (within the confines of a covered table or floor, this isn’t a rock and roll party)
I use it for “invitation to create sessions” yes I’m one of those annoying crafty moms, but you already knew that šŸ˜‰

Glass jars

I love coffee šŸ™‚ But what to do with the glass jars, step one, salvage from husband who thinks you are a hoarder, step two, clean and remove sticker, step three, consider spray painting lid like on pinterest but decide no thanks, step four, fill withĀ biscuitsĀ for an instantĀ cookie jar, step five, get your tall husband to put it out of your reach, step six, grab a chair šŸ˜‰

Ooh! I'm totally a hoarder too! I just use most of my hoarded stuff for my garden – polystyrene and yoghurt cups for seed trays, newspaper and toilet rolls for starting seeds, chopsticks from take away night for seed markers… the list goes on!

I have so many glass jars that I'm saving in case I can use them for something else. I also have a large bag full of empty toilet rolls for crafts. And empty yoghurt tubs. And cereal boxes. šŸ™‚
