Our Rainbow’s room

So what started as a nautical room is now transport themed:
WHY? well because people keep giving us gifts that are transport inspired (not just boats) and I couldn’t say no to all the cuteness
The duvet and chair cover is from my mom, the chalk board has always been there but I added his name for cuteness and well these pics don’t really do the room justice but I LOVE IT
My friend Sal (from fashion friday) hosted an amazing baby shower for me this weekend (pictures to come-date was moved forward) and I actually ended up incorporating some of the decor into Aidan’s room okay more than some, Sal is super creative

This is a before and after for the “feeding chair” my mom redid for the room. It looks soooo good πŸ™‚
Before Aidan goes to sleep in his own room, we intend to keep him close, and for that our friend Lyndall borrowed us a stunning vintage moses basket πŸ™‚ HOW BEAUTIFUL

Wish list (Table top fireplace)

I’m not sure why, but I suddenly REALLY want a table top fireplace, maybe it’s because it’s been just so COLD recently, but I’m loving the concept – with safety precautions in place, naturally – I think my sudden love of the idea could come from the idea of having smores INSIDE YOUR LOUNGE , I like smores, oooooh smores πŸ™‚

gimme gimme!!!

I need help!

Our place is starting to look like its auditioning for one of those hoarder reality shows, SERIOUSLY and I cant take the mess!!!
This is the problem: Too much junk too little space!
Our clothes have actually spilled over from the cupboards into laundry baskets in the spare room and the couch in the bedroom.
Most of the cupboards cant be opened without some serious planning ahead incase you have an avalange on your hands. Then there is the kitchen where storage space has become even more of a problem!!!!
It always seems to look like you just finished cooking a three course meal for five, because there is not much space to pack things, don’t get me wrong we have a decent sized place we just have no where to put things.
The most annoying part is that it feels like you are constantly tidying up!!!! All the damn time!!! and I don’t like that thank you very much!
So now I’m on the hunt for storage solutions, seriously don’t want child welfare on my case before baby is even born!
I’m loving this, and it could sooo work in the bedroom (theinspirationroom.com)

Robs not a fan of this look, but I’m thinking it could seriously work as a place to put all the clothes that do not fit my new voluptuousness (might need five)

I think this is stunning but quite honestly I am just not neat enough to have people stare into my cupboards (homestars.com)

This is soooooooo stunning but I’m thinking not that financially viable (the kitchenstop.co.uk)

I’m loving this as a place to put all those blankets I cant seem to find a place for but then again I’d have to find a place for this (construct101.com)
Seems this is going to be costly! maybe I should just get rid of my clothes , hahaha – NOT GONNA HAPPEN

I’m back, with pics :)

I know I haven’t blogged in ages-mainly because work has been so hectic, I went to work, ran around like a crazy person, came home and fell asleep- as you can see there was no time for me to blog. But yesterday even though it was still HECTICALLY BUSY, I got a new camera *BIG SMILE* which certainly brightened up my day and motivated me to take some random pics, which led me to blogging said pics. . .
I literally just picked up my camera and took pics around the house, here they are in no particular order:

FLOWERS…Rob bought me some flowers to help cheer me up, 10 brownie points πŸ™‚

MY CHANDERLIER…It was a Christmas gift, picked it up at a craft market in Knysna-Rob painted a portion of the ceiling black-I’m a huge fan!

MY GREEN GUITAR…I bought this years ago thinking I would learn to play some time, I never did and then a friend borrowed it from me and brought it back yesterday with a box of lindt as a thank you- No thank you πŸ™‚

MY OTT RED THROW PILLOW…These glam throw pillows give our black fold out couch a softer look

GIANT BLACK CLOCK…The start of my wall of clocks

BUTTERFLY FLOATING CLOCK…The second piece on my wall of clocks

DRIED ARRANGEMENT…I have a thing for proteas, so this arrangement is one of my favourites

MY TOESIES…Chilling out on my fav couch πŸ™‚

I love it when a plan comes together

I’ve been feeling really grown up lately, not only because of unidentified aches and pains and a stack of bills, but because we are really getting somewhere with our home decor, we figured we would be living in our little cottage for at least another two years so we might as well make it as cosy as possible. So little by little we have been buying and incorporating things and it’s finally starting to show πŸ™‚

We bought a new bed, our old one was a loaner from my mom’s guest room so now it’s official we are on our way to being proper grown ups hehe. I’m not a fan of buying beds though because I can’t tell the difference between  one base set and another in the shop anyway and don’t like giving away loads of money if I can’t physically see where the money went. (damn these things are expensive-ja ja lifetime/quality/pillow top/no turn/blah blah-still can’t see it though) But one night on new bed and I was sold πŸ™‚

What was my point? oh yes, our redecoration is coming together nicely, Rob bought me these two prints, which he knew I would love, and I do, so it is seriously inspiring our tv-room decor (I know I said it’s really his room-but no harm in helping)

We are now in the process of finding a sleeper couch for that room, something like this, wish us luck – can’t wait to share finished product  πŸ™‚
