Little teapot inspired body/hair butter recipe

rooibos

So following the success of our Story book challenge where myself and three other bloggers did DIY challenges based on the stories; Cinderella,  Peter Pan, Charlie and the Chocolate factory, and Alice in Wonderland. We are now starting a challenge based on nursery rhymes, yeah for challenges 🙂 also we have a new addition to the DIYers Venean (she is sooo funny) and Amelia is sitting this one out while she gets all healthy again.

We will be doing the Little teapot, Twinkle little star, Mary quite contrary and Mary had a little lamb.

Today we start with:

This little tea pot has been feeling more than just short and stout lately, I’ve been feeling DRY!!! winter has really done a number on my skin. So I was thinking since I love coconut oil for moisturising my hair and have heard that Rooibos tea has high levels of  minerals and vitamins that promote healthy skin, why not mix the two as my little teapot DIY and kick the dry skin to the curb… The following is a recipe I came up with. It was the first time I whipped coconut oil and I can’t believe I missed out on this all along!!! the mix smells so good and is actually really good on your hair too, I think it’s because tea is good for hair and when you whip the coconut it becomes so buttery soft it is even better for your hair 🙂 chuffed with myself right now!

You need coconut oil, and rooibos teabags

Take three heaped spoons of coconut oil

Empty contents of two teabags into the oil

Melt over a bowl of hot water.(don’t let water get into mixture)
Now you are brewing coconut tea which smells AWESOME!

Strain oil, don’t judge my makeshift strainer there 🙂

Put the pee like mixture away (yes I said that)

Let it semi harden like this, I stuck my finger in there to give you an idea
then you stick a fork in there and whip it into a creamy consistency
(a hand blender works best)

Tadah!!!! your body butter 🙂

Well this is what I came up with, do share recipe with your friends 🙂 there are all those share buttons below seeeeee
