Want to dress like Gabrielle Union?

I miss this girl…the one in the picture at Sao Paulo Fashion week! I miss her love of fashion and how she would not be afraid to experiment with looks. Shame she was rather naive though and very “notice me, love me” oh and boy did she have a case of foot in mouth syndrome!!! oooooh I cringe at the thought. Sweet thing though, we are still
She started this blog and there was a strong fashion element to it back then. I miss that so decided to bring back Fashion Fridays, whoop whoop… (It always comes creeping back this Fashion Friday, like blog herpes, I’m all class I know)

So to start things off, here is my style crush everyday Gabrielle Union!!!! I decided to help you recreate the look without having to get off your bum! All shops are online, this is not a sponsored post I just love matching looks and thought you might too 🙂 (yes it’s not 100% perfect match, I phoned Gabby to get the exact matches but you know how it goes with all the being famous and having stylists and me not having her number…)

I love this look it’s casual, sophisticated and sexy all 🙂

Marie Claire helps with a #

Marie Claire launched the “in her shoes campaign” yesterday and with it came the promise to donate R5 to St Anne’s Home in Woodstock, Cape Town for every person who posts the phrase and the hashtag; â€˜I stand for women’ #MCInHerShoes.

The home which provides shelter, care and empowerment to destitute, abused and disadvantaged mothers and children is a very worthy cause and with the amount of # I see on a daily bases, Marie Claire is definitely putting their money where their mouth is.

The #MCInHerShoes campaign aims to encourage South Africans to stop and remember our role in bringing an end to gender-based violence.

To stand up for ourselves and others in the face of it, and to bring attention to those in need when we see them.

The magazine which routinely brings us naked celebs in aid of honorable causes also invited 18 local male celebrities to take a stand  against gender-based violence and experience life in a woman’s shoes ‘literally” (Photographed by the amazing Steve Tanchel)

‘We needed a strong visual statement that embodied that violence against women is not just a female problem,’ says Marie Claire editor, Aspasia Karras. ‘It’s everyone’s problem. I am so proud of these men for taking a stand and walking in our shoes.’
Siv Ngesi, actor and comedian: ‘This campaign is inspiring. I want to tell other men, enough with this nonsense. We have to take a stand.’
Janez Vermeiren, TV personality: ‘My message to all men in South Africa is that it is time to man up. Violence against women is totally unacceptable.’
Gareth Cliff, radio and TV personality: ‘Men have to stop being assholes. Men have to start doing the right thing even when no one is looking.’

I know many people roll their eyes at “stunts” but I’m a little different, anytime people put their money where their mouths are, I’m game, like yes I rolled my eyes at random non funded no make-up selfies (you guys are missing the point, did you sms the number, hello did you read the rules) but I liked and commented on those who shared the sms number and donated… I also did the ice-bucket challenge and managed to raise money with it… so if boys in heels make people “stop, donate and listen” (Vanilla Ice Joke) then I’m all for hash-tagging the crap out of it 🙂

Kiddies Decor with Sheet Street!!!

So I’ve redone Aidan’s room recently see HERE but something feels missing, like I need something to”pull it all together” so to speak… so in comes Sheet Street. Their all new Kids Range (which you can PURCHASE ONLINE whoop whoop, cause I’m lazy like that) is great, cute and affordable (my two favourite things-after chocolate). The big question right now is do I go Pirate or Dino, what do you guys think? … click on pics to check out their site…

From baby to toddler – room redo

Despite having a sick and cranky baby on our hands we managed to finish Aidan’s room this past weekend. What do you guys think? He loves it especially the touch light which he can turn on himself and the ball pit I fashioned out of packing foam and patterned duct tape…A job well done I think, as my “client” couldn’t be happier:)
The new look room sorry about picture quality-I used the baby clothes on canvas his aunt made as wall decor and have a small little chalk board with his big bro’s name hanging from the bigger chalk board – I know the room looks a little crowded from this angle but it really isn’t
Place for all his teddies and books-the front of this Murphy bed was looking scruffy so I updated it with denim duct tape
The play area-yes that is a pink pony next to the rugby ball , it  used to belong to my sister and kids are far less sexist than adults – The bed can fold up if he ever needs more play room
above his bed
Aidan and Taylor enjoyed the Club house-Aidan has since removed the club house sign and ate it…boys!
We got the cardboard house at Mr Price home ages ago because it was on sale and I knew we would find a use for it
This is the ball pit I made using those foam boxes you get inside cardboard boxes when you buy appliances and patterned duct tape to make it look nice and keep it sturdy.
Not too sick to get up to mischief – I know I’m supposed to paint the house but thought it looked cute just the way it is
