My six kinky curly must haves

I have kinky curly hair… Not magazine ringlets that blow in the wind, no, more afro styled “please don’t hate me today” kinky curls. But I’ve grown to like it…honestly I don’t always know what to do with it though!

But I’m learning 🙂 and know that right here in my hair journey I can’t do without the following:

Dr Miracles Edge Holding Gel

I love this stuff! it’s great for creating a slick, finished look, so I usually pull it out for up styles and head wrap days. This stuff lasts FOREVER! honestly bought it at the beginning of 2015 and have some left. Probably because you have to use so little (I used too much once and had to wash like crazy to get rid of the residue – not easy if you live a shampoo free life)

In-Shower brush

My detangling brush! I love this thing!!! it’s great for detangling and for distributing product. I need to get one for Aidan to was his hair in bath actually… and another one for me because I have this for so long (I’m talking years) It’s lost half it’s brissles and I have been making do without the handle for far too long, it’s not even expensive, I don’t know why I’m so attached to the thing, hehe

Spray bottle

This is another must have, it helps when styling day 2/3 hair and for when you are doing twist outs and need to keep hair hydrated in between. It is also awesome for water fights with my two year old. For my curly boy I usually spray his hair in the morning with a mix of water and leave in product to activate the curl without getting it too wet.

Every few weeks I buy a butt load of these (I have a big butt, that’s lots) and then I subsequently lose them a few each day and then I buy more… I do not have a clue where they go BUT I know I can’t live without them! It keeps things neat(ish)

Yes these things still exist! I love it!!! and desperately need a new one, the one I have is a white blingy abomination I bought on a whim but it works until I can get a new one… My lots of hair covers it anyway.
This is great for keeping hair out of your face without that awkward tiny poof look…seriously instant diva on day two hair. Also doesn’t dent hair so YEAH!
(I can’t remember, I’m guessing Clicks)

Aunty Jackie’s   Curl lala

This is new and I LOVE IT honestly best curling product I’ve tried in ages 🙂
Super happy about this stuff because I can do wash and go, twist out and up styles with one product and it smells divine!

A has very straight very fine hair and a lot of it – it also tangles like mad. She used to use the brush you show here but we recently bought one at Mr Prince sport that has the same principle but a nice round back to hold in your hand and bristles that work even better – and I think it also costs R40 or something. Have a look at those

Aunt Jackie’s is the bomb.com! The flaxseed gel is just as awesome! Lessens the shrinkage sitch, if ya know what I mean ☺

Aunt Jackie’s Curl-la-la is one of my faves. Because of eczema I’m forced to go natural. It’s a struggle though because I have short back and sides and hair that is extremely dry. Wash and go seems more damaging and I hate applying heat more than once weekly. Following you for tips all the way.
