Aidan’s all time favourite food is the humble pancake…I can’t tell you how it started or why the best pancake topping is apparently cream cheese, but he loves it and it is a way for me to get some protein in to him.
I always thought of pancake making as a whole long drawn out production but my mom’s three ingredients in a jar recipe has made this “Sunday morning treat” a wherever whenever occurrence.
This recipe makes like three big pancakes or 6 little ones
What you need:
- Mason jar
- one egg
- two spoons of self-raising flour
- 1/3 cup milk
I know you are probably thinking I have the numbers wrong…I don’t 🙂
I’m both lazy and cheap so this is how I roll, hehehe
Throw 1/3 cup of milk in a cup
Add two heaped (even more so than pic) tablespoons of flour to the jar
Add an egg
I use this thingy from my shake mixer (you know for the supplements, from like Clicks or Dischem) in my jar to help with mixing, but it is really not a must. It does help with the lumps though, it makes the whole mixing thing sooo much easier.
Shake shake shake…meanwhile how pretty are my nails? That is from Kangol. I covered a blue matte with glitter nail polish
Anyway, heat oil in a pan and fry up…I really don’t know how to explain this part as I am still to figure out how to do that toss in the air pancake flip thing. I just put some mix in a pan and fry it up.
These two could not wait!!!
Their favourite way of eating pancakes is by spreading the pancake with cream cheese or cheese spread blocks, rolling it up and putting it on a stick. I don’t know why. But my picky eater LOVES IT so I am not asking questions.
Cream cheese filled pancakes on a stick – because apparently that’s a thing now
Love this!! Will try cream cheese!!! Thanks for the recipe!
II’m old school cinnamon girl myself

Thank you for sharing. I need to try this with my kids. Who would’ve thought, cream cheese ha. I’m also old school – cinnamon and golden syrup.
Aidan’s taste buds dont function traditionally…he puts oatees on his bread sometimes, hehehe
I’m going to try this for my 15m old. The older 2 will be like: Why’s there no sugar in here? lol. But love the idea for my baby. The whole recipe, with the jar and she shakey (sp?) thingy…so cool.
