Guess what? 041online just snagged the title of Best Emerging Community Digital Magazine 2024 – South Africa from MEA Markets magazine! 🎉 Not bad for something that started as a little idea in March 2023, right?

For those of you who don’t know www.041online.co.za is my new baby and the reason I have been so quite around these parts. But I want to come here and share weekly personal updates again…. But back to the award.

We’ve been busy bees over here, teaming up with fantastic brands, welcoming some super-talented writers into our fold, and generally trying to make 041online the best brag book the Bay has ever seen. And apparently, it’s working!

Our latest adventure? Expanding our horizons with a 021 section to give Cape Town its very own spotlight. This award is a pat on the back for all our hard work and a sign that our little magazine is growing up fast.

Honestly, I’m blown away by this recognition. But you know what’s even better? Meeting so many amazing people who are just as passionate about this journey as I am. I’ve got a dream team here, and I can’t wait to see where we go next. Spoiler alert: It’s going to be epic.

The African Excellence Awards are kind of a big deal. They’re in their seventh year, celebrating all the movers and shakers across Africa—from humanitarian heroes to digital dynamos.

Even the Awards Coordinator, Kaven Cooper, got a little misty-eyed: “It’s been a blast hosting these awards again this year. The excellence we see across Africa never fails to amaze me. Congrats to everyone, and here’s to even more success!”
