Those of you who follow me on social media know I love the Locally Yours Market. It’s a Port Elizabeth based market presented by local entrepreneurs featuring really great handmade items and delicious food – so me, right.
The next The Locally Yours Market is set to take place on Saturday, 1st June at the Tramways building, Nelson Mandela Bay and I thought I’d let you know why you simply need to be there.
You need to go to Locally Yours because
They have Father’s day gifts
Buying for men is so difficult – well, I think so. The market makes this easier by bringing all kinds of unique gifts together under one roof. Jonothan from WoodPine will be there with a superb range of wood that will be perfect for DIY dads. Ryan from Boon Mill will showcase an eclectic range of bespoke wooden furniture. For car enthusiasts, Wayde and Tarquin from Kingshine will be there with their locally produced and formulated car cleaning products range. There are actually way more things than I can mention, from leather goods and craft food to superhero posters, there is something for every kind of dad.
Lunch is sorted
For food lovers, a buffet of mouth-watering meals will be on offer and @Karoo’s will launch their very own Gluhwein while Amina from Amina’s Fusion will present a range of tasty soups. You can also get some shopping done as The the fresh produce corner will be fully stocked with fresh fruit and vegetables. (A special shout out to Munros Coffee and Eats for being extra nice to my ridiculously picky eater son at the last market)
Meet an inspiring author
In honour of youth month, Locally Yours Market will host local author Olwam Mnqwazi who recently launched his book, “Writing The Way: Lessons & conversations I wish to have with you”. Olwam has previously led a number of youth initiatives such as Fruits of Democracy, InkuluFreeHeid, and South African Youth Council to name a few. In 2018, he was awarded the Top Achiever Award in the category of Special Sector for Youth Development by Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality. Olwam was one of the 2015 Mail & Guardian 200 Young South Africans.
You can win big for your dad
Two lucky dads who can win either a Deep Sea Fishing experience from Big John Fishing Charters or a Dolphin and Whale watching experience hosted by AB Marine.
You help animals by just attending
The Locally Yours Market have waived their entrance fee and have instead opted to ask for donations towards the Animal Anti-Cruelty League. The market date is Saturday 1st June 2019 from 9-3PM
The market is a great place to hang out with friends/family, support the local economy and get unique items, what’s not to love. Things are also very decently priced… Follow the Locally Yours Market Facebook Page to stay in the loop with specials, competitions and event information
