The 14th of May is going to be the first (hopefully annual) #ecmeetup and we are starting with a bang courtesy of speakers; blogger Megan Kelly Botha (who Luchae chatted to last week) and digital editor Dorette De Swardt.

Dorette is a petite brunette with an infectious laugh and itchy feet (the kind of itchy that sees her travelling as much as she can and not the kind that needs a doctor)

She has spent the past eight years working with digital content of all sorts. Her day job is to run media websites and optimise social media to drive traffic and interact with audiences.

She’s worked with HeraldLIVE, Beeld.com, News24 and Pasella. Digital content never stops but when she takes a break you’ll find her on a plane or car somewhere, travelling…. with her husband and kids in tow.

She is no stranger to the blogging world, having blogged in her private capacity in the past. In fact, impelled by immense wanderlust, her and her husband drove two-up on a scooter from South Africa to Egypt for their honeymoon, documenting the journey on their blog IDOAFRICA.COM

Dorette specialises in website content management and creation as well as social media solutions  for print and online media. She will be chatting to us about everything from dealing with the trolls to upping your social media numbers. (more on the importance of this on Luchae’s Blog)

Sometimes you’ll find her at @doretteds but the workaholic who was once the voice behind @Beeld.com and @News24. is now mostly found at @heraldPE
