Countdown to #ECMeetup

meetupIt is #ECMeetup time again and we are soooo excited

It has been pretty emotional to be honest. Well for me anyway. At times I found myself thinking I have no business taking the lead on something like this but then my co-host Luchae would put things in perspective for me. This is not about us, we had a dream to get the local bloggers, talking, interacting and learning, and to shine a little bit of a “bat signal” from the Eastern Cape saying there are more bloggers here than you think guys. And since that is what we set out to do, we are on track.

The support has been  pretty overwhelming and now here we are, two average everyday mommy bloggers who have managed to put together two blogger events (#ECMeetup) in one year.

Not only that, we are also affiliated with Nelson Mandela Bay Tourism, which is HUGE for us, the faith they are putting in us has not gone unnoticed. It is extra special because we are hosting the event in heritage month and it is running at the same time as the #Sharethebay #ColoursofYouSA Instagram exhibition.

Then there is our speakers, my real life blog crush Anje Rautenbach from Going Somewhere Slowly and the social media wiz kids Gerard Addison, Zinzi May, Tayla Foong, Sherwin Andrews and  Unathi Dyani of Colours of You SA. They will be sharing their knowledge with the #ECMeetup delegates and I for one have my notebook ready.

The day is full of surprises and gifts and the sponsors, both local and national, have once again shown that there is no truth in the myth that brands don’t want to work with people from this side of the world.

It’s the last week now so collecting prizes, finalising things like goodibags and name tags and mostly being super thankful to God for making this possible and to the bloggers who are “taking a chance on us” and coming out to  see what this #ECMeetup has to offer.

CAN’T WAIT!!!
