I’m proudly Nelson Mandela Bay; I live in Uitehage and primarily work in Port Elizabeth and despite opportunities to move elsewhere this is where my heart is.
I fell even more in love with the region recently when Luchae and I decided to host the first bloggers meet up (that we know of) in the Eastern Cape. (NOW SOLD OUT – can hardly believe it)
We tried our luck with sponsors and were pleasantly (extremely ridiculously) pleasantly surprised at all the support we got from our local businesses.
Naturally we have our main sponsor, The Boma their generous contribution is what really set things into motion. Having one of Port Elizabeth’s premier event venues at your disposal elevates things a little (a lottle) and helps ensures that even if anything goes wrong we will be well fed in a beautiful setting.
Nelson Mandela Bay Tourism got on board without a second thought. We told them our idea and they basically said – okay where do we sign up how do we help.
The tourism department is eager to work with influencers and bloggers and showcase our great metro. I have worked with them before highlighting The Mandela Bay Pass which is a project I really stand behind and shove into every visitors face! because I love a good deal.
The beautiful Kuzuko Lodge has also come on board. Without giving too much away before the event; This family friendly five star bush lodge situated in a private section of the Addo Elephant National Park, has offered us an amazing sponsorship. Seriously this is the kind of place hollywood stars come to stay and they are as excited about the meetup as we are…how great is that.
Our 5 star treatment doesn’t stop there as Shambala spa has also signed up as a sponsor. yes THAT Shambala spa. Known for it’s tranquility and the use of only the best products, Shambala vouchers are on top of many a Christmas and Birthday list. They are just as passionate about the region and did not hesitate to give us their mark of approval.
Another local MUST HAVE that has signed up is Mastertons . This family owned business knows all about the blogger stables COFFEE AND TEA. They have really come to the party and have a great surprise for our bloggers which I will not divulge just yet. Can I just say that this is super difficult for me as I love to share news. They are as Proudly PE as businesses come and we are very proud to be associated with them for the event.
Another family owned business who have come on board is Born Free Leather Crafts this company specialises in bespoke hand-crafted leather products, designed in-house using locally sourced materials. All proudly made in South Africa, Nelson Mandela Bay to be exact.
Bonamia restaurant in the heart of PE has also come on board with the event. Known for great comfort food at reasonable prices (you people are going to start thinking I’m cheap – actually I prefer frugal) Bonamia is becoming a PE hot spot.
The Bay Language Institute has come on board with such a fun prize that I am tempted to blab but I shall wait (getting good at this hey).
We even have The Weekend Post on board guys and everything will be photographed by local photographic maestro MoFirefly Photography (she is even doing headshots for anyone who needs new social media pics)
We have a bunch of other sponsors on board, some EC versions of national brands but Luchae is covering all of those so do check it out HERE.
You are going to have an amazing meet up!
Sounds awesome. Can I come? Somehow, I have gone my whole life without visiting the Eastern Cape but you make it sound amazing.
