We have a new eatery in our home town of Uitenhage in the Eastern Cape so we simply had to check it out. The Zone on Mosel.
Their facebook page and the fact that we pass it on our way anywhere, peaked our interest so we popped over for supper… this is what we found.
What we think of The Zone on Mosel
1. Decor and vibe
I have been in this building before, honestly it does not have the best track record for keeping tenants, but I really love what The Zone on Mosel has done with the place. The decor and layout is fresh and open and the play area is large. The play area actually caters for different ages and the glass doors means you can keep an eye on your kid pretty easily. The decor combined with panoramic views of the area (the top floor is made of glass) makes for a pretty chilled vibe
2. Service
We have only been there once and the staff was really nice. The child minder in the kiddies area really seems to have a knack with the kids and the waitstaff were friendly and helpful. The check on you without hovering and the turn around time is not long at all. (I mean between sitting down and ordering and ordering and receiving your meal)
3. Food
They have a pretty comprehensive menu, with everything from pizza and past to enchiladas and quesadillas. They also have a kiddies menu that is more that viennas and fish fingers, which is great. (None of this matters for us though as Aidan still only eats chips, toast or waffles when we go out to eat) We loved our meals, I did the quesadilla and Rob ordered a pasta, we are definitely going back for their breakfasts because, we are such breaky people. (update: I went back with my cousins who LOVED the burgers)
4. Price
Their food is insanely affordable. Seriously they have lunch time specials which include things like steak and eggs for R55 and under. They also have special days like two for one burger night, kids eat free night and Mexican night (not sure what Mexican night entails, but the ad has a picture of tequila). I’m looking in to their birthday party deals as well, it’s very close to our house and they do theme parties, so I’m here for that
Edit… Last week we needed a place for a last minute birthday get together for my sister and they were so accommodating, their portions were huge and the kids loved the play area…so its definitely on our local faves list
