Birthday party planning is the order of the day in our house
Aidan is in full planning mode and I feel like this time around it might not be a bust…like when the venue forgot about us or when he got so sick he had to leave his own party.

It is Pirate Party Time
Friday’s are officially/unofficially my features days, the days I have interviews or guest post and the such.
Today I am saying goodbye to one of my favourite features for a bit – The PARTY WITH series…and I’m doing it with a feature on a little boy named Aidan whose mother has a handmade business (HOW WEIRD IS THAT)

Aidan’s Barn Yard party was a success! Well I think so, the only real faux pas was a little “incident” involving the cake and my chest area oh and my curls decided not to curl (the joys-more a genetics problem than a party problem though) but otherwise everything was really nice and the kids had fun, what more could we ask for…

Pinwheels for Catriona (Tutorial)
My blog buddy Catriona over at Precious Impressions was curious about how I made the pinwheels I used as décor at Aidan’s baptism, I promised her a tutorial so here goes:
Materials:
Square piece of light cardboard, preferably one that is patterned on one side only (I glued some of the servietes I used for his party on one side of card to create the two sided effect)
Double sided tape
Scissors
a detail for the middle , I used buttons as it is my not so secret obsession
How to:
1. Fold the paper diagonally to create a cross shape coming in from points
2. Then lightly fold points in to meet at centre
3. Cut on the first fold stopping at the second fold
4. Fold alternate corners in and stick down with double sided tape
5. Add your detail
I made these on sticks in bouquet and at the end of my bunting so they are made to be stationary, if you want ones that actually blow in the wind use a long drawing pin to go through the centre and attach to a stick ….
