I had a pretty interesting weekend…interesting enough for me to be updating my blog while waiting to make an appointment with my doctor…
I posted this pic on instagram to show off my giant new cup. The funny thing about the photo is having a friend visit yesterday and calling me an instagram faker because I look great in the picture BUT in real life not so much. I think my immune system has been hanging on by a thread and has finally had enough of my bullying.
I love how the Essence liquid lipstick hides signs of imminent death.
So you know how I got to write all the promotional copy for the 2015 and now 2016 The Herald Boardwalk bridal fair? You don’t? You clearly don’t follow me on social media – you should… Anywho this weekend joined a judging panel deciding on the best stands at the exhibition. OMW was it ever a tough decision. We were all sent off with clipboards and instructions and I was super overwhelmed by the effort people put into their stands! Seriously stunning stuff.
I went for lunch at Life with Lemons with a few friends.
The person who suggested it to me knows me for like 11 years now and it shows. Because I LOVE LOVE….she suggested I try the lemonade because not only do I love lemonade (I do) BUT it is presented in such a cute way I could not resist. A tiny little tray with a glass of ice, a bottle of still or sparkling water and this little bottle (think Alice in Wonderland) of lemon syrup!!! Awesome.
Their food was pretty good too! Quite yum
The total highlight for me was Aidan getting to bake his own bread! I won’t lie, my smart arse 3-year-old did ask why he had to do the cooking at a restaurant…… uhmmmm…… (no paternity test needed over there) it is such a bargain at R18 – I totally prefer paying for experiences vs things.
They give you a little tray with dough, egg wash, flour and utensils. They then pop it into the oven and kids get the cutest little bread shapes – a must try weekend activity!
Saturday evening at King’s and Queens of Comedy.
It was such a killer event, I was cry laughing – also please note the first decent selfie featuring Luchae and myself.
Before I had to leave and miss half the show…The show was awesome!!! If I could , I would book my tickets for next year right now.
It was not all fun and games though, if you happen to hear a story about a woman falling in a giant puddle of water in the ICC bathroom – true story. She is I. I got up with most of my dignity intact but having security waiting outside the restroom to check on you, while speaking into their collars and acting like it was a matter of national security …there is no way THAT is not going to be awkward.
I had attended the show despite feeling sick and managed to act like I was not dying for quite a bit -until the fall- after that all resistance crumbled into a cold sweat, body aching, take me home now, puddle of nausea.
sad for days
I spent Sunday in bed feeling like regurgitated death. This cute kid asked if he could sit with me and make me feel better…awwww man so much cute.
Feel better soon, Ella! 🙂
I hope you feel way better very soon – a lot of fun weekend!
Get well soon!
We have a few places in Jozi where kids can make their own pizzas etc… always a win!
